Nice job. Was that JT Hall that live streamed it?

I miss Kentucky.

With a lot of little technical fixes, you could improve your times/reps quite a bit but with the weights that light it is often more endurance and making no mistakes than it is strength.

You lost several seconds on the pick up, sit down, turn around, and re pick up on the farmers. With 200 lb farmers you can't waste any time because everyone should be so close that light light of a weight. Same with the tire...you just lost a lot of time between flips by not getting back down on it perfectly (with again, with that light of a tire it bounces like crazy). Elbows up on the log will get your leg drive and stability into it. And any deadlift for high reps is just horrible anyways!! High reps are horrible!!!

Great job!!!!

Yeah that was JT Hall streaming it. He competed as well.

On the farmers walk, there was no way I could turn around and head back faster than the drop and re-grip...That was 400 lbs and I've already got a herniated disc, that would have been asking for an injury. A couple guys tried to turn with it, they finished about 2 seconds slower than me! haha

All in all, it was a fun experience....I'm more into bodybuilding than the whole strongman/powerlifting thing.

I understand the drop and regrip vs the turn. Most people are much faster with never dropping it and just going with the flow. I've done the 375's that way. It isn't the hold and walking that gets people's back...it is the pick up and sit down that gets them. And my meaning by how you could save time...is that even though I assumed that you HAD to drop and re-pick them...you still could have done it much faster, about 2 seconds faster. With such light weight (200's are extremely light weights, our 180 lbers use 265's) you can't afford to lose split seconds on the drop, turn, and re-pick.

With some technique work on everything...you could really fly with those contest weights. You should look into a bigger contest sometime. Possibly a NAS sanctioned contest?

Just a question.

Those seemed to be 200 lb farmers, not 400 lb. Was that a mistype?

Other than that, great job!

Were there no loading events?

So by wining this, do you get a spot at nationals? Or wasn't it NAS sanctioned?

pretty sure they were 200lb each hand, so he meant 400lb total weight being carryed
