BowFlex worth the investment or?

Hello, pondering whether or not to purchase a bowflex. I'm not to big on the free weights, and have heard that the bowflex offers dozens of workouts and has great results. Anyone out there familiar with one of these and recommend it?

....

I'ved used one before. Definitely not worth the money. You could buy a membership at most gyms for 3 years for what you pay for one of those.

Can't get to the gym though, about 35 miles from one, not to mention I can't drive. They claim to be better than free weights due to the bars.. true?

bowflex is not worth it. it is way overpriced. get a nice set of free weight and a bench. you will save money, and get more benefit

bowflex............

isn't tht the one that may1010 worte to mp-5 about a few month's back?

..

Well look anything is better than nothing. See if you can find information on a set called TUFF STUFF, i've seen one of those and can do all exercises on it.

The bow flex I used was so shaky it felt totally uncomfortable.

Okay yes bowflew does suck, but here's the deal...it does beat a blank.

Your not going to get huge using bowflex, but it still beats sitting on a couch eatting fritos and watching Jerry Springer.

I recommend getting some dumbells and a bench just to get started, but if you can't a bowflex will help get you in better shape than doing nothing

wish I had the room for all of this

There are several companies that sell sturdy racks with only two uprights. These are not nearly as bulky as a full cage, and when the bench is placed inside the beams, the entire apparatus can fit in the corner of a small room. Yes, a bowflex can be stored easier. But ahh, the sacrifices we make.

bowflex is for amatuers

adjustable bench and set of powerblocks much cheaper. powerblock db's , can adjust the weight the db will weigh by moving a pin. very good db's , have used them and very comfortable.

I am guessing that if he is 35 miles from the nearest gym, that he is in BFE, and that he has plenty of room in his backyard for whatever he needs.

Devon- once you have the equipment or if you decide to do this first, build a little shed out in the back that would accommidate your equipment. Then buy a cheap Wally World (Walmart) fan.
