Basicly I work 12 hours a day and don't have much time to make it to the gym anymore. I want to be able to contiune to work out so I was thinking of buying a bow flew. Now I don't know that many people who have owned a bow flew, all I know is what I've heard on TV.. I was wanting some feedback from people who have used one who who actually have one. Their about $2,300, and I didn't want to waste that much money... I'll be running a test/deca cycle this winter, and I've heard alot of storys of people losing weight with bow flew, but I didn't see any storys of people gaining weight... help please

don't waste your money. I know a guy who has one, and while it did OK for him as a rank newb, he quickly outgrew it. Don't believe those commercials.

Why spend $2,300 on that, when $700 will buy you your own power rack, bar, weights, and a nice bench?

My gym has one in their cardio studio. No one uses it since there are so many better options. I agree with beerdrinker. Buy some weights and a power rack.

i had a bowflex pro, and it suckd, its very awkward fro alot of the excersies. If you insist on one, just check out craigslist and save a bunch of money. But id def go with a bench, weights, dumbells for much cheaper

LOL, hilarious. Save yourself the 2300. If you are short on time, then pick a simple routine that you can get it and get done quickly. Drop all the fluff work, focus on your major compound lifts.

If you don't have time to drive to the gym, invest in a home gym like suggested above. You'll get a much better workout for 1/2 the price.

I own one. It will take you about 2 weeks to outgrow it.
It pisses me off to know that I spent that kind of money on a very limited product.

Buy yourself a power rack and and bench press your money will be spent much wiser that way.

I bet if you look around the classifieds you can find a bunch of people that shelled out full price and are just trying to dump the thing now.

+ money left over for a set of bumper plates

I think the only thing BowFlex makes worth looking at it that adjustable dumb bell set they make..looks cool.but that would be just something to go along with other stuff.

Another problem is I work 2nd shift 3pm-3am... it's hard to find someone to spot me at 3am in the morning

I never have a spotter, hasn't stopped me yet. If you are scared, then get a power cage to squat in, with safety bars. You can also use it when you bench. As long as you aren't trying to lift to failure each time, you can make great progress by yourself.

12 hour work days still leaves 12 hours to train. I'm sure bowflex has it's benefits, but bowflex and that cycle don't sound like a good marriage.

Save the bowflex for retirement

you dont need a spot with a power rack, just set the saftey bar things to just below the lowest point of the squat, press or whatever your doing, if you get stuck it ll catch it.

Overcoming that fear will make you stronger than you ever imagined. I used to think I need a spotter everytime I squatted, benchpressed, or military presses. If I didn't have a spotter I could trust then I was afraid to go any higher than 50 % of max. It also eliminated dropsets for me. I couldn't make much progress.

no no no dont get that crap big diff in free weights to a bunch of sticks i hate that machine i only use it if im injured and cant go to the gym and i hate it

I only have to work 80 hour weeks and somehow manage to get to the gym three times a week.

But if you insist on it, a bowflex would be a fine addition to a home gym.. and add dome dbol to that cycle to make sure you get extra huge off it.

Hehe while I do think a bowflex could work for good for lighter lifts I don't really think it would do heavier stuff very well.

I used to use a total gym and while it offers great cardio workouts, there was really no way to get strong on it.

The reason nobody gets strong with bowflex is they have not tried clean and pressing it for reps. I wonder if we could get the bowflex lift sanctioned by OLSA?

OLSA

Bowflex is a great way to get fucked up, seriously. A band machine should never be used for strength training IMO, strictly isolation movements.
