oh yeah, have as little contact with home as possible. no distractions is the way to go...

make sure suzie rottencrotch isnt trying to start all sorts of shit while you are gone. she will be getting tossed up by atleast 6 inmates. that is a fact of life, and you should accept it now, so you don't get all emotional during basic.

you don't want to be that guy wearing a pink vest, because you tried to drown your sorrows in a bottle of clorox, or have no shoe laces because you tried to fasten one end to your bunk and the other to your neck.

lol trust me I won't be that guy.. I'm not real nervous. Starting to get a little bit more nervous though since I only started thinking about it really today.. Stuff like this doesn't bother me too much since I don't think about it lol.. It comes when it comes and goes when its gone.. And I like the no distractions but if I don't right my mom I think boot camp will be the least of my problems because she will murder me lol..

yea , he is an airframer though, in the navy they deal with all metal issues , hydraulics , tire and wheel , brakes , paint , windscreens, and interior panels.

They really specialize the shit out of it in the AF I think. He deals with sheetmetal, corrosion and paint and THAT'S IT. I know he does interior metal work, but I know he doesn't deal with tires, brakes or windscreens.

you know, i have been to some hard military schools...but i would rather do them all over again than basic. the whole being treated like a child thing about made me lose my mind.

sealpup, get your hands on the bible, the koran, and/or whatever religious texts they allow you to have. there will be lots of down time, and you will want something to keep your mind occupied.

i wasnt big on writing letters; it made me think about all the bullshit. i enjoyed reading the bible...i even enjoyed reading the great pearl, and i loathe mormonism.

I don't know how much I'll write letters.. I think I will enjoy parts of just getting away from everything and not worry about anything going on back home.. I sort of like the idea of being unhooked from outside world.. We'll see though maybe I'll cry like a baby to momma back on home on letters.. lol.. Naaaa

I wrote my parents and siblings( I have six brothers and sisters). My brother in law served two tours in Vietnam, served in Desert Storm, a year in Bosnia, and six months in Iraqi Freedom(he's a First Sergeant) and took a special interest in my military service so I wrote him specefic letters.

Damn lol that's a lot of immediate family.. I could definetly see any and all of your free time being filled with letters.. That's cool about your brother in law also.
