If fdat loss was your primary goal for 6 weeks what would you do HIIT sprints or 5 mile runs ? how many times a week?
 
Do both,
mon- 3miles
tue- high intensity sprints (speed work)
Wed- 5miles
thur- high intensity sprints
fri- 3miles
sat- off
sun- long run- start at 5 miles then add one mile per week for 6 weeks
Youll lose weight fast. After 4 weeks at a mile to the m-w-f run
 
do both. if u loose to much muscle or strength just eat more but do both. also try stairs, boxing and kick boxing while you watch tv or somethin
 
i do both

i'll do 100m sprints 1 day
400 m sprints (which i suck at major so it tursn into 100m sprints after the first lap or two lol)
hill sprints
and 2 long runs but i incorporate fartlek training into this

I just started HIIT. I was jogging 3 miles at a time about 2-3 times a week. I like it better. I warm up for a half mile, then do 5-6 sets of a 30 second sprint followed 60-second jog. Can't tell if it's working yet, but it's far less boring. I get about 2 miles in all together, but a lot more work in that 2 miles.
 
yeah HIIT rules!
it totally kicks your ass!

man the years i spent, sorry wasted doing 30minute+ runs
ok they're good but after your body gets used to it it's hardly a challenge with HIIT you can really push yourself + after running long distances 4 times a week i felt alot more drained and weaker.
Doing more HIIT i've noticed less weakness and increased definition in my legs :D
 
once the dam jersey weather gets nice ill be outside everyday doing high int. runs and plyos. It works a lot better then long distance.
