Bodybuilding for an 18 year old

I'm 18 years old and 5'11" 173lbs, I'm looking to gain naturally and efficiently with protein casein, bcaa's. I'm relatively new to bodybuilding supplements. So I'm open to input.

Skip the protein and use a good weight gainer with plenty of protein.Add glutamine to the mix.
 
Thanks for the response. Any recommendations on weight gainer and glutamines? I also dont want anymore fat, will this slow me down?

What is your body fat % now?Do you have a slow or fast metabolism?

I don't really know for sure. My local Y I dont think has a caliper or anything. I can barely see 4 of my abs on a good day when I'm flexing. My metabolism is about in the middle of slow and fast.
 
All weight gainers are are protein shakes loaded with carbs.

I'd say skip the weight gainer shakes and just add a 1 cup of oats to your protein shakes (if you have a blender). That will be as good as any weight gainers out there, giving you complex carbs, fiber and protein.

Take a protein shake after your workout, and make sure you eat 6 times a day, get in 250 grams of protein and train hard.
 
Some proteins already have BCAA's and glutamine in them, like Optimum Nutrition.
You can get 5lbs on prosource for around 50 bucks. Just make sure you eat often and intake protein every two hours.

A good weight gainer has very good quality carbs and very good proteins in a perfect formula.I actually learned to use them to make much better gains from a pro bodybuilder and many advanced guys that compete at the National level.Most of them can not get down the amount of calories it takes to get the gains they need and use 2-3 weight gainer shakes per day.The old weight gainer formulas used to be loaded with garbage to get the mega calories they claimed to have like the mega gainers claiming to have 2000 calories or more.The new generation stuff like the Cytogainers,True mass and a few others are a perfect formula for anabolism.Providing 70-100 grams of complex carbs with 4-8 grams of fat and bellow 10 grams of sugar with 40-60 grams of protein.Some people dont have the time or desire to be using a blender and adding oatmeal every time they want a shake.Some of these weight gainers mix great with just water and provide a perfectly balanced meal.
