body for life anyone?

I am in a February slump... and am wondering if anyone has tried the body for life program and had great results. It seems logical and complete [altho it seems to really push the eas products]

There's a guy at my gym that does it, and he looks great. That's all I know about it. He's big and pretty lean.

He also seems like a bit of a nut, but I don't think that has anything to do with the workout!

I've never done the workout routine per se, but I think it's based on good principles. My diet is very similar to what they preach (w/o all the EAS supplements though).

When My husband and I got back into the gym after about 10 yr. break and 3 kids during that time, we started back with BFL. this was about 18 months ago. I didn't get the dramatic results pictured in the book after 12 weeks but it did help me make a lot of progress. Then I got stuck and stopped making progress after 2 challenges.

I then went through a period of time where I ate too little and did too much cardio along with my workouts in order to speed up the progress but in the long run thwarted my efforts. Didn't really build any muscle and still looked flabby.

After that we got together with a personal trainer well versed in body building who helped us the most. We have been making excellent progress since then. He gave us a 50/30/20 program for eating rather than 40/40/20 in BFL and a heavy 4 day workout with no cardio at this time. I'm not sure what he has in store for us next.

BFL seems to be a great program...for beginners!

After 6 years of slowly turning into a pile of pulsing fat and chub, I started back to excersise with BFL and it really helped me drop pounds...to a point.

Once I felt my body was trained enough to take on a more intense program of weights, I dropped the BFL altogether and made more gains/losses. Currently I'm at 13% bf and I'm happy with that for now (considering I was somewhere around 26-28% for a male). Any lower on the bf would involve a cutting program. And really, why would I do that if I'm not competing? Maybe one day just to do it once.

If you are starting back or just starting, BFL is an excelent way to start! Beyond that...read this board. You'll get better info and programs than the BFL.

Flexygirl and myself are doing BFL now - if you wanna chat about it and support each other - lets do it and also lets exchange IM screen names to motivate each other :)
