Blood pressure 164/109

CO B-man

New member
Shit I just checked my bp at a Walmart and it read 164/109 which said stage two hypertension on the chart. Is this normal toward the end of a cycle winny and test cyp. I have slightly high bp on a good day without the juice. Can you take bp medicine on gear? will that have negative affects in any way. If anyone knows the answer to any of these questions I will be highly thankful

bro,
thats really high and dangerous. i dont think wallmart bp machines are too accurate (especially if you have large arms). i suggust you get it checked with a normal bp cuff by a professional.
but if is really that high, you need to be very careful

i hope it was just that machine

me too I was hoping someone would say that. It was a little tight putting my arm in the machine. I have a doctors appointment Thursday morning.

bro, those cuffs if you read them say for an average sized arm of 13"......a bigger arm is a much higher reading. Hell ican barely get my forearm in there. And if you have large arms even when you go to the doctor you need to have them use a larger than normal cuff.....the regular cuff will give me a higher than normal reading everytime

Not large at all they are about 16-3/4" un-pumped but it was a little difficult getting it in the little machine

agree with drr

Well, shit, good thing I didn't check MY blood pressure in there.. shit, mine probably woulda been 220/169.. :p :p

Shit.. then Galaxy woulda strolled up behind me and checked his and it would have been in fucking scientific notation..

No, but seriously brotha, i hope it WAS just the machine.. Keep us informed..

T-Matt

It was the machine, still get it checked with a regular cuff. I had mine read 200/150 or some shit when I was on drol, scared the shit out of me when I saw that, then read the 13 " arm thing on there and was like oh shit son, damn near scared the piss out of me. Went home had my nurse friend check it, she got 120/90 *shrug*

Right on everyone thanks a lot. I hope that is all it is I will let you know Thursday I will sleep a little easier thanks to your comments. Just freaks the shit out of you when you see it read above the highest reading the machine has and it says phase two hypertension. makes you think.

don't fuck around with your BP. those machines are quite accurate. and with AAS and a shitty diet, i'm positive you'd have high BP. btw- my bp is usually that high. you'd freak the fuck out if you knew what it was while you were lifting...

I was that high on my var cycle and I'm back down to normal off - its probably close to accurate but it doesn't really indicate anything dangerous except that your on a cycle.

Thats the truth! what are you on by the way? Ive delt with similar shit recently.

BP is a big deal. I've had mine around there (when checked by a doc) and gotten it down with a bit of determination and self-discipline.

It's quite possible just prioritize it and resolve the situation. Your life actually may depend on it.

Good luck to you, bro. Even posting this message shows me that you're motivated, which is the foundation of success in anything -- including BP.

When I have used the WalMart machine, my BP was always higher than when I would go over to my Moms house and let her check it.

I always used the WM machine on my forearm simply because when I would put my bicep in it....I would get readings up in the 200's. On the forearm, the reading would be closer, but still higher than when a nurse checked it.

i do the forearm thing too..lol

Ahh,

That is not that high, The diastolic, or lower number is most important, 90 is considered high,

But you my friend are on gear and it will jack those numbers up when your on and for a few months shortly there after.

I not saying ignore it, I am just saying don’t worry too much because test and winny will do that.

And also the BP machines at the drug store are junk, you really need to buy one for home. Mine is by Lifestyle, nothing special but it works. With out a stethoscope.

you're saying his reading is high because the cuff is small? that's funny, that it has nothing to do with steroids and diet. thank you, doctor.

ya i am saying its the cuff. the cuff is for arms up to 13 inches. when your arm is nearly 4 inches larger than the cuff the pressure reading will be way off. this is old news, everyone knows this. sorry if that fact is shocking to you. and my doc verified because i take my home bp daily and i had to get a larger cuff because the readings were way off using the regualr sized cuff. personal experience, do you have any with bp and bp monitors? i do. and i'm right.

you sound like a fucking teenager. i've been on bp meds for some time now. i have a home monitor. 160/100+ is bad news. a person with low bp and big arms will not get a high reading, regardless of cuff size. and any guys who pushes a fucking lawn mower around his yard once a week will have arms bigger than 13''.....lol.

YOU ARE WRONG BRO.......i get a WAY high reading in those and i get a WAY high reading when a doctor uses a cuff for a normal sized arm. I've been in and out of surgeries for years and i know this for a FACT. they have a bigger cuff they use for big arms. I have went when i wasn't on anything and the small cuff will give a higher reading.

Im not saying he might not have high blood pressure, but i do know those walmart machines will give me a crazy high reading if i force enough of my armd down in there.

So, you WILL most DEFINITELY get a higher reading on taht maching if you stick 19" arms in there, or even 17", i am absolutely 100000% positive on this

Call your local doctor and ask him of you don't believe me. they don't carry an oversized cuff for nothing

DUDE, im NOT saying you shouldn't be on BP meds, NOT AT ALL.....where in the hell are you getting that??

maybe you don't have a huge arm, i dont know, but an OVERSIZED ARM WILL MOST DEFINITELY GIVE A SCREWED UP READING!!

do you have 19" arms? i dont' know if you do or not, but i am telling you this as an absolute fact, i've had my blood pressure taken MORE TIMES THAN I CAN REMEMBER, and when i would go to a nurse and tell them to make sure they get the bigger cuff they ALWAYS do for this VERY REASON

so calm down man, i don't know how you got from this that i think you don't have high BP, i don't know if you do or not, i never mentioned that, but a small cuff on a large arm gives a higher reading!!! that is exactly why the make the larger cuffs my friend!!

I do have high bp, it runs in my family but usually never that high. I knew that from the beginning. I had it under control mostly with just diet and excersize for the longest time before I started my cycle. But when I sat down I freaked. I am now more curious as to whether if I get bp meds prescribed will that have any affects with the cycle bad or good or indifferent. Human target sounds like you are both On cycle and bp meds is that true? if so any bad sides from both?

pretty damn close to 19 bud. i went round and round with my doc about bp. first, the nurses at the hospital said my 160/100+ was "really not that high" for me being athletic and so on. then my primary care puts me on a bp med because they said it was definitely needing to be lowered. i was assured that the home models and retail outlet monitors were usually (less it was broken) with in range. i was told as long as the cuff stayed in place, it would read correctly.

Agreed, those monitors at Walmart or any store for that matter should never be trusted (or used for that matter)... if BP is a constant concern of yours, especially if on AAS, then you should get a home monitor... an Omron wil run between $50-$85 bucks, and they're pretty accurate. Also keep in mind that BP fluctuates constantly throughout the day.... you can get a high reading at one point and perfectly normal reading several hours later

by the way, if you do have high BP, and you don't want to get onto BP meds right away, take lots of ginger and garlic...they will do a nice job and helping reduce BP

well bro, we can agree to disagree if you want. I don't know anything about those "home" test deals, but i do know if i go to the doctor today i will get two different readings with the two different cuffs they have. I have been through that on many occassions when visiting the doctor. Now im not saying they are 40 points off, but there is definitely some variation. Im sure if you use the same device over and over then you can guage what your BP is doing relative to the last time you checked it anyways. But like i said, if i force part of my arm in a wal mart bp machine i will get some crazy high readings, off the chart readings

Im sure there are variables in your diagnosis etc that im unaware of also, so its all good bro..

Cool I will try that. Lover ginger root and garlic.

Actually being diagnosed with High bp this Thursday is going to keep me off antabuse that the courts were trying to get me to take for a DUI/DWAI I got last year so that is one silver lining. It will be the third time they will read my bp which is the minimum requirement my doctor said she needed to actually diagnose me with that. But I will definately monitor it since it is fixable and can be/is a very dangerous condition to have.

I happened to run across this post and you guys are making me nervous. I've been running high for about six months..major stress..anyway mine has been in the 170's to 180's. I just took it and it's 191/106. I've seen a doctor and he said "your bp is high" end of subject. So I'm wondering is it higher for girls than guys? I'm fairly active, no chemical's. Does size make a difference, meaning I'm 5'4/135lbs. No cracks, yes I could stand to lose 10-15. Thanks :)

I almost never eat fast food ever and if I do it is subway, quiznos or worse yet Qdoba! My avatar was peak of Dbol bloat and I was not using any Anti -e's then and eating everything in front of me but that was quite a few weeks ago. I have since been cutting and on a very strict diet for about the past couple weeks. I always ate lots of fish, chicken but also had a sirloin steak about every other day while bulking. Looking at my avatar looks like I am a total fatass which I can see why but you guys will see soon my new pics after I am done cutting. I have been called skinny almost all my life. forgot to mention I also take flaxseed oil probably more to just cant think of it all. some not every day like zinc. I am a sucker for salt though even though that is the worse thing for bp, but have been trying to watch that especially on corn on the cob even though corn is about as valuable as eating cardboard. So far I have not even had a cheat meal for the past couple weeks

Man, you really need to drop some of your dosages, drop the winstrol, clen and t3, and lay off the salt.

I'd be freaked out if my BP was that high.

I'm not saying this with any authority, but you're taking alot of stimulants there (T3, Clen, YES, CB, TREX)... Ulter and Macro can answer this more definitively, but are all those stims affecting your blood pressure?

go to another place like walgreens or cvs and read it again. do it at least 3 times. Make sure you're getting enough potassium in your diet.

how is your cholesterol? do you smoke? your numbers are dangerously high, like stroke high. when you call the doc tell him its an emergency so they dont make you wait 3 weeks to get in. wish you the best.

Thanks for the reply TT. Yes my cholesterol is a little high. Don't like the sound of stroke. I did call the doc a minute ago and their computers are down they'll call me back lol, just my luck. I have wondered since I am a red meatless eater if that might be a contributing factor. mmmmm we shall see. I guess I'll forgo mowing the lawn today :)

good luck. most of the food we eat doesnt impact cholesterol that much. its the combination of high bp and bad cholesterol that effects cardiovascular health. you'll be fine once they get your bp in check. odesnt sound like your overweight which is a big plus.

This is just my personal experience, but the first 2 cycle's I did I used no anti-e. My BP when checked was always around 165/110 in that range. I could feel my head wanting to explode and my face was fat as shit. I was simply ignorant and was scared anti-e's would limit my gains. I was basically being a dumbass I realize that now. Every cycle since then I use Adex and my BP is completely normal for the entire cycle and of course there is no bloat. I'm currenting using AIFM now with a very small dose of Adex.

Cool I am using AIFM right now. maybe after Thursday I will restart taking the anastrozole @ .5 mg ed or eod

Call me conservative but when it comes to high bp, the long term and short term consequenses are so severe -- it's Dr. time.

Cuff size will most certainly without a doubt influence your readings. If nurse or Dr. said otherwise they must a flippin idiot. We use various size cuffs for taking readings on the legs to assess for vascular disease. Too small a cuff will cause a higher reading than normal. 16"+arms you will most likely need a thigh cuff to take your BP. Large cuff usually for 13"-16". Small cuffs like on those machines usually only good for up to 13" arms. Look it up.

O.K. Ladies & Gents here is the update! I went in to the Doctors today. Although my blood pressure was a little on the high side it was not what that piece of crap Walmart machine said it was. I did ask her about the cuff size and she said it that a smaller cuff size on my arm would in fact affect the blood pressure and give it a higher reading than the actual. So I had an EKG and was diagnosed with high blood pressure which is not a shocker since it runs in my family anyway. She will be getting me on meds and I did tell her about me being on cycle but made her promise she would not put it down in my charts. She was real cool about it and will be watching my blood levels now. So thanks again to all!

Looks like you found you answer. I plan on using a product from Anabolic Innovation's called "Cycle Support" for my upcoming cycle, which I have heard good things about it and controling BP, along with AIFM.

Good luck with the meds.

Not true!! With the small cuff, I'm 145/105 and with the big cuff I'm 125/70. . .same person did both readings. . .one right after the other.

Come on man! That is uncool and childish I did not post that to prove anyone right or anyone wrong. I posted it because there was a discussion about if it were true or not and I thought I would see about clearing it up so that in the future we can share that knowledge with the next guy or girl that says holy shit the walmart BP test says my heart veins and arteries are going to explode!

there wasnt a discussion about fact/fiction of the bp cuffs. everyone on the thread said the same thing i did and he came in and had to be the black to everyone else's white. i was simply the focus of his bullshit.

he was a prick to me and started the flaming. childish or not, the guys a jerk off. seriously, for someone (human target) who is on bp meds and knows all about the shit to vehemently disagree on such a known topic was a joke. he was looking to cause shit because he's an internet troll who lives in the chat board. fuck him and his "karma", which is so gay to begin with.

not trying to get you in trouble CO-B.

increase your potassium, eat potatoes, they carry almost twice as much potassium as a bannanna.
stop eating all salt. salt causes hypertension. zinc will also cause it if your taking a high dose, so watch the multivitamin intake.

and what was that guy thinking about the cuff size. i would force my arm into 1 of those walmart BP tests, i have 20 1/2 inch arms, so i can only get it about on the bend of my elbow, and it always reads high. when i go to the doctor, they use the big cuff on me and i read 120/80. everytime.

oh btw, you prolly want 5-7 grams of potassium a day. a medium potato has 720 mg, bannanna has 421 i believe. bannana's are a simple sugar tho, potatoes are complex carb = better for you.

also, nobody should be taking blood pressure medicine unless its a dire emergency. most hypertension is caused by too much sodium and not enough potassium.

says human target is 35, thats WAY too young to be on meds. salt causes hardening of the arteries which causes high blood pressure.

cut salt out completely, increase potassium, and watch what your eating look at the label. if it has 700 mg of sodium, dont eat it. dont add salt to anything your cooking either.

I will go ahead and let my doctor know that she is wrong and I should not take BP med and that she needs to get her money back from the 8 years of medical school she went to and the 20 + years experience she has. Especially since I am only 35.

I appreciate you trying to help but I will listen to my doctor before I go listening to some avatar that just joined the forum. Everyone knows salt is bad, hardens your arteries and increases bp. I knew that when I was a little kid. Guess what? So does steroids! seriously though I appreciate your trying to help but you know I believe in my doctor just a little more. High bp runs in my family I have had my bp in tact with diet and excersize for quite some time way until I started to juice. My brother was on meds in his mid to late 20's my uncle, dad, grandfather, even grandmother all have it. Called genetics to.

there wasnt a discussion about fact/fiction of the bp cuffs. everyone on the thread said the same thing i did and he came in and had to be the black to everyone else's white. i was simply the focus of his bullshit.

he was a prick to me and started the flaming. childish or not, the guys a jerk off. seriously, for someone (human target) who is on bp meds and knows all about the shit to vehemently disagree on such a known topic was a joke. he was looking to cause shit because he's an internet troll who lives in the chat board. fuck him and his "karma", which is so gay to begin with.

not trying to get you in trouble CO-B.
why so upset, Denise? you shouldn't take stuff so personal. and you shouldn't take yourself so seriously, because no one else does.....

thats about as weak as you can get.

simply put, your an internet geek. go buy more karma so you and your "e-friends" can have a party. loser.

I did ask her about the cuff size and she said it that a smaller cuff size on my arm would in fact affect the blood pressure and give it a higher reading than the actual.

make sure you re-read this. feels great to be right, especially next to a clown like you. tootles..........
