Birth Control and DHEA

I tried to do a search on this but nothing quite answered my wifes questions.

Wife asked me to post this. She was on the depo shot for about 8 years and did gain quite a bit of weight on it. She has now decided to go off and try the "mini pill" which is progestin only. First question is if there is some type of overlap where we need to be worried about switching over from Depo to the mini pill and I should wear condoms just to be safe.

The second question and most important is will DHEA have any effects on her BC? She's used the DHEA drops before with the depo but the stuff she wants to use is about 50 mg which is a little more potent than the drops were and the mini pill has less potency than the shot did.

its a high prog high estro type shot. What kind of bc is she on now?? is it low estro or low prog.. You will have to ask her to ask her doctor.

She is just coming off the Depo and going on the mini pill tomorrow (Sunday) which is a low dose progestin only (no estrogen) pill taken daily. It's such a low dose her OB/GYN told her it MUST be taken within a half hour of the same time every day. Her fear is with taking about 50 mg + of DHEA per day it may interfer with the pill and make it less reliable. Any data or thoughts on that?

I am going to make the switch to the mini pill next week. Any info on it would be great.
I'm coming off the regular combo BCP with estrogen & progesterone.
I know you got to be religious with taking it and I was told it is best to take it 4 hours prior to your usual "active" time - when you have sex ...
