Best way to not rip your hands

What can someone do to stop getting ripped up hands when I am lifting heavy ? I work with my hands and it becomes an issue sometimes.

over time your hands will get stronger to a point. since you do work with your hands you probably are just over doing it since you do both

Gym chalk or liquid chalk
