I'm part Chinese and I've always eaten it like how spatts does, but it is an acquired taste. I also slice and marinade it then fry it in a non-stick or lightly sprayed pan.
There's several types of tofu, two are firm and soft. The firm can be cooked/sliced and incorporated in any dish because it absorbs the sauce that it's cooked in. The soft tofu can be crumbled or blended into recipes like smoothies or made into patties. Sorry I don't have any recipes, but I hope any of this helps.
