Best to take for injuries?

I have a severe pull in my hamstring from water skiing. I was wondering if there is anything I can take to assist in the healing process? I want to get back from this injury ASAP.

anabolic steroids do not heal injuries

people are under the assumption they do because they think they are magic and do everything

the best thing you can do to recover is rest. get more sleep. if your hammy isn't completely torn where it needs surgery then it will repair itself if you let it

you can take what dylan recommended along with n2jointrx too

Here is something i found but it is about a contusion...

The effect of anabolic steroids and corticosteroids on healing of muscle contusion injury.

Abstract
The effect of an anabolic steroid (nandrolone decanoate, 20 mg/kg) and a corticosteroid (methylprednisolone acetate, 25 mg/kg) on healing muscle injured with a drop-mass technique in a reproducible muscle contusion injury model in the rat was studied. Healing was determined by measuring active contractile tension in each muscle and histologic analysis. At day 2, the corticosteroid group showed significant improvement in both twitch and tetanic strength relative to the controls. At day 7, this effect was reversed and the corticosteroid muscles were significantly weaker than the control muscles, but there was still no significant effect seen in the anabolic steroid group. At day 14, the corticosteroid muscles were totally degenerated, with disorganized muscle fiber architecture. The anabolic steroid muscles were significantly stronger in twitch, and a similar trend was seen in tetanus relative to control muscles. The results indicate that in an animal model corticosteroids may be beneficial in the short term, but they cause irreversible damage to healing muscle in the long term, including disordered fiber structure and a marked diminution in force-generating capacity. Anabolic steroids may aid in the healing of muscle contusion injury to speed the recovery of force-generating capacity. Although anabolic steroids are considered renegade drugs, they may have an ethical clinical application to aid healing in severe muscle contusion injury, and their use in the treatment of muscle injuries warrants further research.

^^^ you def do not want to be messing with cortico's as athletes unless you have a multi million dollar contract on the line.

great way to injure yourself more

The study is on anabolic steroids also. Im not suggesting using corticosteroids. It covers how over time cortico steroids cause perminant damage. Read the part about anabolics

On that subject: a buddy of mine has a chest condition which required medical treatment with corticosteroids. It was common for other suffering to, over time, lose a fair bit of muscle mass. Being an anabolic user wasn't, as per my buddy, common. So when he went to see his specialist the fella ended up asking for a copy of his protocol as potentially useful for later research.

What you need is time. The biggest risk is coming back too early and reinjuring it. I had a pulled hamstring that took 2 years to heal. I was playing a sport at 25 years old that had a game every sunday. I would feel better by the next sunday and then set myself back again. I did that for 2 years until I had to just stop playing so it could actually heal. I should have just taken a month off and it would have probably been fine.
