Best Running Shoes

Time to Throw the old Faithful's in the dumpster.. Too many miles on them and I am feeling it every time I hit the pavement.

The shoes I have now are New Balance running shoes..

Any recommendations for something good for running and has great shock absorption?

I normally try to get to the running track but here lately I have been sprinting on the pavement and its really jarring.

I like New Balance and really any other brand that feels good on my feet. When I try them on I jump all around the store to make sure I have enough cushioning.

Plus here we have a shoe store run by a Marathon runner, so he's really good at seeing how your shoes are "worn", etc..... he really helped my hubby's feet...see if you have a store like that near you.

yep...take the show and give ti a good deal of tortion form side to side...if it stays stiff - thats a good sign

I like nw balance the best too. Right now I have nike shox & they blow.

I find the soles don't grip well, they are narrow at the toes (so your a bit off balance if doing lunges, standing calve machine)

Yep, Nike has a very narrow toe box. Depending on your foot it can really hurt.....

I need to go and get fitted proper. Gonna have to shop around, I don't know of any store near by that would be helpful. I can think of one that is 2 hours north of me though :worried:

Bought my son a pair of the Nike Shox ... IMO looks so uncomfortable.. and seem to be to bulky for running.

It was the 'hype' he HAD TO HAVE THEM... ;)

Well, it may be worth the drive, if you're having problems with your feet.

As for your son, yeah, kids are like that.... Gotta have it!!

I think I'll make the drive.. I've never had any issues with my feet. Have been running for years.. I am most certain that the issue lies in these very old shoes. LOL

I take good care of my shoes so on the outside.. they don't look to old but they have a hell of alot of miles on them. :worried:

Sounds like you just need new shoes.... but if you do go, take your old shoes with you so they can see how they've "worn."

As far as running it all depends on your foot. Shoes are made differently. I like to run in New blanace for shorter distances up to 10-12 miles, after that I pull out my Mizuno Waves for longer distances. If you go to roadrunnersports.com they have some great running shoes. I have ordered from there before so they are legit. You just type in what kind of foot you have (wide, narrow, rigid... etc.) and they pop back the shoes made for your foot. Ideally for running you need a half size larger then you would typically wear.
