I have been listening to rap for years and years. I dont love hip hop or rap, but enjoy ice t's stuff because he was the first gangster rapper and is in my opinion far the best rapper. He Practically made rap what it is today....hes been doing it since 1980 and still strong now, with 8 albums out he fucking rules!

2 pac is great, but i think people have only been saying he is the best ever since he died (or did he?!)....Dont get me wrong, his music speaks volumes but i think his popularity grew loads after he died. Still world class though.

Amoung the other choices there, i hope you think twice before saying eminem....i now a few fools who think he is....i think hes shit.

As far as overall "best" goes, 2Pac's the greatest. Say what you want, but he "said" more than any of those others. Honestly, I don't think he was a *horrible* actor, either. Not an Oscar contender, no doubt, but as far as playing a part--similar to stars like Arnold, etc.--the guy did his thing.

I can honestly say that the only kind of music I don't listen to is classical, but that's not to say a year from now my choices won't change. I've got CD's with Metallica, Dr. Dre, and Tim McGraw playing back to back...it's all about variety!

There is a problem with this poll. The best rapper of all time isnt on there. Can We Say NOTORIOUS BIG. Dam biggy was by far the best there was and ever will be. For him not to be put on the list is ridiculous.

My mind is open--and I know there is some excellent, positive stuff out there. You're right, I spoke improperly. But I will say that a LOT of it is pretty terrible (and yes, I'm honest enough to see the same in any other form of music, too, but look...let's be real here, it's not to the degree, and to the availability, that it's found in rap).

Sorry, but I don't want my 2-year-old son to grow up in a world where other people have made it okay to call you bitch, nigger, ho, etc., or celebrate in the availability of guns and weed.

And no, I'm not stereotyping rap here. With some remarkable exceptions, these topics saturate the product. It's rap that's begun to stereotype itself.

How can you not put Biggie on this list, he was the best in my opinion. I cant vote until BIG is added to the list.
