ive been lifting for year now....im 17....and have taken nitrotech and GNC protein.....what do you all think is the best protein powder out there?

thanks

i think it all up to taste, nitrotech taste great but big $$$, dont know if any one is better than another as long as its whey, i currently using gnc whey

doesnt really matter much, they're pretty much the same. Get something by a reputable brand (Prolabs, EAS, MET-RX, Optimum, GNC, Designer, Dorian Yates, Muscletech etc etc etc)
at the end of the day it's down to taste and what u are willing to pay for the most part

some will have added bits and bobs for example some will be glutamine enriched or have no aspartame etc

One thing though, when are you looking to take the protein? IF it's pre and post workout then you'd be wise to spend a little extra and get a decent Hydrolised Whey Protein or simialr fast absorbing (VP2 by AST, prolabs Whey Isolate, EAS Prescision Protein etc etc)

If it's not post or pre workout go for a blend (whey + casein is good blend)

im looking to take it post workout and throughout the day.....not preworkout tho it slows me down.....sooo somethin like nitrotech would be ok? or should i go with somethin else? i was thinkin prolab or optimum.

thanks alot all

peace

ok...how about this.....ast vp2 after workout....and gnc 100%whey any other time of the day? one more question how do u all consume creatine and protein before your workout if u should consume creatine on an empty stomach?.....im a n00b as u can tell....thanks a lot

optimum nutrition whey is the best by far. for less than 60 dollars you can get a 10lbs bag. that’s less than 6 dollars per pound. most other brands are allot more expensive. I've seen brands that sell 2-3 lbs bags for close to 40 or more.

not to sound redundant but check out GPLENISH at the AF store, and do a search on it here.

its GLUTAMINE PEPTIDES

a rich source of protien bonded to glutamine.

you add a table sppon to your normal protin powder drink, and you'll get

17 grams of protein with 5.595 grams of stable glutamine.

and its cheap

over 2.3 pounds for 36 bucks.

do some more research I think you'll be very happy.

It cheap in the aspect that you get glutamine peptides a supp thats pretty expensive on the market.

that one of the cheapest prices for glutamine peptides.

its a very potent hydolisate.

that is to say your getting all your amino acids, plus glutamine bound to those amino acids.

Normal protein powders are ok but many of them have high ash content, and also their methods are sometimes questionable.

also a serving size is 17 grams, and in GPLENISH your getting between 70 and 80 servings.

and that for only 2.3 pounds.

where as when you buy a 3 pounds bag of a cheap protein powder, you may indeed have three pounds, but the ratio of servings to weight has little correlation.

in other words to get 17 grams of protein sometimes you have to use two scoops with normal protein powders, where as with GPLENISH you only use ONE tablespoon

sometimes very cheap is not a good thing my freind..........

also my reponse was specifically geared towards answering the Q of

"what do you all think is the best protein powder out there?"
