Best friend attempted murder.

My best friend was charged with attempted murder on Saturday from an incident occuring almost two weeks ago. He had some personal property stolen from his apartment. And then later found out who stole it, he decided to go that persons place of residence and break in through a glass door he fired two shots into the cieling and then struck the guy and his girl with a broken golf club. Im not saying its from the steroids he was on. But he was definately much much more tense and aggressive since his cycle began. I do think it contributed to it. God i feel so sorry for him and his family he has a baby girl whos not even 1 yet. ANd to make things worse his girl and baby need a place to stay. So im letting them move in for a few weeks. I hate drama like this.
 
That was definately assinine! I am sure he probably wishes he could turn back time. Maybe he will learn to think before acting after all this!!
 
Depends what state he's in In New Jersey there is no self defense I did two years in State Prison because someone tryed to stab me and than I beat his ass even reduced to Aggervated assault he could be looking at State time..But all depends on the laws aand the judge Or Jury if you bring it to trial but thats always fuckin ify because if you loose your getting the max

No way they can make attempted murder charges stick with what you have described ... if he had shot the guy that would be another story .

Aggrivated assault at best .

They try'ed 2nd degree murder on me and i ended up with accessory to manslaughter .
Believe me my story is alot messier then your friends situation , plus the guy died .
I ended up doing 8 months
 
when my home was broken into and my family things were stolen I wanted to kill someone too.[I was not on at the time and hadn"t been for a couple years]when someone comes into your home uninvited you feel the need to defend it. I was alot younger then and someone talked some sense into me. your friend is in the wrong and I would"ve been to if I did something. I"m sorry for your friend and his family hopefully he can get a lesser charge

He wasnt upset about the things he could replace. He had some things from his fathers funeral stolen. And some other personal items that sure wouldnt account for much in a deductable. But as far as thinking before acting ya thats obvious. Was it worth missing out on his babies first birthday and all the other things he sacrificied not a chance. Im sure hes thinking about that right now. Still hes my homie do all i can for him and his family. :mix:
 
If your friend was charged with attempted murder in the case then he needs to seek counsel. Provided he has no prior felonies or any class c misdemeanors then the DA will probably opt for supervised probation for 5 years. If the defendants in this case are injured and can prove they have any ongoing disabilities from being struck then this may turn into a class c for him. I hope that helped

huh? 30 days? he broke into someones home premeditated with revenge as an intent, shot a weapon twice, and beat 2 people with a blunt instrument. both people can positively id the man as the one who attacked them in THEIR home which HE broke into. its premeditated and alot more than aggravated assault. the system is not that blind, this guy is not skating on this. get a lawyer asap.

what states do some of you live in where people can get away with crimes like these with little to no time? tri-state area aint that way thats for sure.

That sucks man. I can feel his anger for somebody who stole from him but you have to be smart; there are other ways to make him pay
 
young newbie I understand where your comeing from. He"s lucky to have a real friend like you. We can"t think for our friends but we can be there when needed.

Exactly he would do the same for me. I wish we could go back and fix things. But thats just no possible. Actually had a good time at the gym. Let out all my emotions and let it go. Now i have to take the rest of his stuff to my brothers storage unit. Got my other bedroom looking like nursery lol. Used to use it for sunday night poker with the guys. That wont be happening anytime soon now. Thanks for the support guys.
 
Enjoy your friends while they"re still here. I lost a close friend a few years back to cancer and it was like loseing a brother.We got in trouble together like boys always do growing up but we were always there for each other. TRUE FRIENDS ARE HARD TO FIND!!!!!

Maybe I am an asshole, but are we supposed to feel sorry for the guy. It sucks that he got robbed. But if he knew who did it, then he should have called the police.

Or waited until the fucker came out and beat the shit out of him. Leave no evidence and wear a mask. Probably still should have called the cops.

Sadly I have to agree. You dont have to break in and beat his girl too. Thats just stupid. These are the types of people I think SHOULD be in jail - the unstable ones.

He must have done more than shot a gun in the air and beat them with a club.. attempted murder he would have had to fire shots in their direction - not at the roof.
and as for beating with the club... if they were not in serious condition and he stopped his beating before the cops arrived it could not be attempted because it would of happened.

Either way i feel sorry for him, wasn't right to beat dudes woman but i guess it could of been the heat of the moment.

But its things like this that make me hate modern law practice. The guy who stole that shit as well as the guy who pulled the knife probably will/did get off clean as the offenders and you as the deffender end up with a Fuckin sentence. How does that make any fuckin sense? The guy deserved to have his ass beat.

Your friends a two time loser, lost his personal property in the robbery, now he lost his freedom. I don't see the judicial system being to sympathetic.

bro, just be there for him no matter what happens...it sucks having your best friend in jail, and even worse if he gets prison time. my best friend is serving 6 years right now, brings tears to my eyes to even think about him sitting in that shithole prison.......just take care of his family as best you can and be there for him

Blame??? I said i believe it contributed to it. Ever since ive known him(over 14 years) he's had anger issues. I believe it was a combination of a number of things. The first bieng he had an anger problem to begin with. Second he was very close to his father and had a lot of things stolen that his father gave him. The third and probably least reason was steroids. I do believe it might have sent him over board. I think you used the wrong word "blame". Or maybe your the retarded one?

Ya it doesnt look good for him. Although they are probably going to reduce the attempted murder to assault with a deadly weapon and third degree armed robbery. But those still carry a stiff penalty. Il keep you guys posted. And thanks for the support.

Ya he will get some time. Sounds premeditated and out of revenge. The guy is our of his proerty and his freedom. Hope he see's it was a lose lose sitsuation. Next time he should call the authorities. or atleast not go barging into someones house with a gun. Not sure what he thought he'd gain by doing this. I can understand you thinking steroids was a contributing factor. You said he always had a anger problem. Prolly not a good idea to use steroids like he did with he anger issues. So id blame him not the steroids at all. He knew he had anger issues and still elected to use aas. Thats he own decision. Blame is all on him. And now he's making his family and friends pay. In Canada the laws are likely different... but ya... I'd be pissed if I knew someone fucked with my personal shit... The same thing happened to a buddy of ours... so we rented a van, threw him in the back... beat his ass, then dumped him in a ditch... wore masks... end of story...

Several year ago in Florida.....I caught 2 aggrivated assults,an assult with a deadly weapon and a concelled firearm charge......spent mega bucks on a lawyer and ended up doing 4 years probation and anger management classes after the plea bargain.......get the right attorney and all is not lost....

This is pathetic. Our country's forefathers would be turning in their graves.
There will always be violent people in the world, no matter how much politicians try to neuter our most vital interests (ie, protecting our lives). But maybe that's not as important as the state of the troubled criminal who needs "guidance." :rolleyes:
