what do u guys think is the BEST kind of diet to go on.. if you're planning on bringing your b/f from around 20% under 10%. can u guys help me out please. thanks

At the risk of sounding like another 'Ketonic' diet plug:

I would recommend a 'Ketonic' diet (HIGH fat/low-carb), for maximum fat-loss. Now, this is not "necessarily" the 'best' diet in everyone's view, but from experience I can tell you that, if properly done, it can be one of the most effective.

In my opinion the most effective diet for fat loss would be a cyclic ketogenic diet in which you cycle macronutrient ratios every 3-4 days. i.e low carb, moderate fat, high protein for 3-4 days, then one carb meal of 100-200gms last meal of the day; then resume low carb, moderate fat, high (consistant) protein for 3-4 days, then carb load last meal of the day - repeat cycle. The carb load meal should be based around complex carbs, while protein and fat should be kept to a minimum during the carb load meal.

Note: Its more important to have a consistant supply of protein throughout the day than a high amount of protein. i.e 20gms protein, 6 times a day is better than 50 gms protein 3 times a day.

Take in plenty of EFA's, and drink water until you're eyes are floating in their sockets. Supplement with a multivitamin, extra Vitamin C, Potassium and B Complex.

The BEST diet is one that you plan for yourself and your goals based on the info that you learn here and other places. As my reply will indicate, you will not get agreement on a 'best' dit from anyone, so educate yourself.

I think the BEST diet for fatloss is a high protein/moderate carb/low fat diet incorporating lots of fibrous veggies and some whole grains for your carbs. I think the FASTEST diet for fatloss is a straight ketogenic diet (with no carb-up period). However this diet makes it hard to maintain your fatloss once you stop dieting. A cyclical keto diet (which I would consider high fat/moderate protein with short carb-up periods) may help you REATAIN MORE MUSCLE while dieting (if your weight train), but again it's a bitch of a diet to come off interms of rebound weight gain.

BTW in case they don't chip in here, other people think an isocaloric or "zone" type diet is the best. And some people think drinking nothing but protein shakes with flaxseed oil is the best. And a 1000 other variations on dieting.
