Best Body Fat % Measurement???

I'm looking to buy a body fat monitor.

could someone recommend a reliable and accurate monitor?

up to the $300 range is ok

I've been lookin online and have seen some mixed reviews on several different models.

thanks

Why not just use a tape measure and take pics every 3-4 weeks that would be better

I sincerely believe in keeping a training log

$300? You don't need to spend anywhere near that. Google the AccuMeasure 3000 Bodyfat Caliper. It is only $19 and it does its job.

Look up bod pod on internet. Uses air displacement to give you an accurate reading. I try to do this every 3 months.

Your better off with calipers or if you have an
aquatic center in your area,,,try under water
dunking for an accurate measurement.

sounds great to me. I was told by three different people to get my bf% under 15 before I do my 2nd cycle so that's the reason I had in my mind for buying one.

It looks like 2 votes so far for calipers. I've never used them. Is it easy to do for just about any body type?

With all due respect, I strongly disagree. Those small cheap ones are very inaccurate, and you really need to spend closer to $250 used or $850 new. This one is pretty good; my doctor has a professional version of this, which is about double the cost:

Tanita TBF-300A body comp. Scale - eBay (item 300418440775 end time Apr-23-10 10:06:03 PDT)

However, the only true measurements are the "bath tub" type, where you are dipped in water. That's obvioulsy only for a competitive pro.

Yeah calipers aren't too accurate, though more accurate than the cheap electronic scales. That is the same model they used for wrestling 2 years ago when they took our bodyfat, or really similar model.
