Best BB/Physique to never win the Mr. O

You would probably have to add in Shawn Ray, Lee Labrada, and maybe Andreas Munzer

Cool bro, you remembered Andreas Munzer. No one got as razor sharp/hard as Munzer.

Dexter Jackson he's blessed with perfect symmatry, muscle density and hardness----------kind of like Andreas Munzser from the early 90'S

Right on bro, wouldn't argue that.

I hope Dexter Jackson takes 1st at the O one day, he looks amazing IMO. :coffee:

Yeah, seen him guest pose at a show in Gainville, Fla back in 98' you could just tell he was going to be a force to be wreakened with in the future.

Im going to have to agree 100% with those guys.

Munzner was in a class of his own when it came to muscle hardness/density, and cross striations especially in his quads and delts.

I'd add in Levrone as well. Some of the newer guys over the more recent years I haven't keeped up with them. The late 80's and early to mid-90's are the one's I am familiar with because that is when I was still in fantasy land about wanting to be a pro BB'r. Those are the guys I would read about the most because that is who was at the top always. Lee Haney and Dorian Yates were to 2 Olympians at the time. Bob Pearl was a little before my time, but have seen a few pics, and he looked great.

Obviously, Flex Wheeler would be there, but from what I hear, he is lazy and doesn't put in the effort that it takes to win...like the other guys (whatever that means). He might have the best genetics out of anybody though.

You think too much diuretics killed him?

Damn...I like the big guys, I'm going with Ruhl and Schierkamp
Anyone remember Victor Richards. The only BB that didn't compete and got his pro card. Weider just thought that he would be an asset so he gave him his pro card. Big Vic said "if you compete, you have to diet, therefore, you stop growing". Vic said he never wanted to stop growing.

Hand down Levrone. No weak bodyparts. always came in shredded and full. muscles always looked dense and hard. symmetry was perfect, so was proportion. and he was an awesome poser. plus u guys want to talk about a "good embasador" for the sport. who better than Levrone? he spoke well, he had a likable personality, he always seemed like a down to earth person. plus he was a musician, and was an all around athlete. so my vote goes to Kev Lev.

anyone else believes Jay Culter will be the next era after Coleman?

Maybe. He would sell tons of stuff, as he does now. He has the corporate look of bodybuilding.

i would have to say flex, shaun, levrone, mohammad makkawy before he croaked, and to add "bertil fox" (he was the biggest boy around in Arnold's days if he ever won olympia, i dont think so. i thought "gaspari" would win 1 year over haney but that did'nt happen either.

I would have to say Bob Paris first and Flex Wheeler second. They each had the best symmetry in the history of bodybuilding. The guys who were in the 200-230 pound range looked SO MUCH better than these monsters who are on stage today. Eventually, guys are going to come in at 300+ pounds ripped. The human body was only meant to be so big before it starts to become a burden on itself. All of that extra mass is extremely taxing on the heart.

Combination of diuretic-induced dehydration and EPO (aka erythropoetin, epogen). Basically turned his blood into non-coaguable sludge.

BTW my vote is for Lee Labrada.

why wouldnt a bber do EPO? i know it has some positive effects for the BBer but not even close to being worth it. i can see why an endurance athlete would risk it, coz they have soo much to gain from it. i plan on using slin gh igf lots of gear, but those things offer a lot, i would never use EPO though, doesnt offer much AND its deadly.

blood in the body has to be a certain viscosity like oil in a car. Although EPO may increase RBC production, it also increases viscosity which can make your blood thick like sludge or a malt. That will lead to cardiovascular events like MI, CVA. To proper use EPO, one may need blood thinners like aspirin, coumadin, plavix and etc. with frequent coagulation studies done.

Ye i know this bro, but what i was trying to get accros is that the risks outweigh the benefits by soooo much in bbing. i'd understand in endurance sports but not bbing.

A beast. Huge legs.

My votes- Nubret and Levrone

Tony Little. That guy got really diced riding his Gazalle Cross Trainer

rofl. "You Can Do It!!"

Anyway, I definitely think Shawn Ray, Flex, and Mentzer got the shit end of the stick.

But there's one name that people seem to forget who was neck and neck with Labrada and Bob Paris. That would be Francis Benfatto!! The guy was a walking greek sculpture.

There are many injustices in bodybuilding. There are so many quality physiques up there, but sadly only one can win. To name all the best men who never won would take up an entire thread. Mike Mentzer, Lou Ferrigno, Harold Poole, Bill Pearl, Flex Wheeler, Lee Labrada, Mike Christians, Serge Nubret, Bertil Fox, Kevin Levrone, Bob Paris, Robby Robinson, Danny Padilla, Berry DeMay, Nasser El Sombay... I could be here all day. Each one of these men AND MORE all looked great and some have come so close, while others never even got a chance.

In a sport where one body is able to rule for 5-8 years at a time, it's sad that some guys never got to be Mr. Olympia. I think they all know this going into the sport, but do it anyway.

Bodybuilding is not a sport people do for fame or money. There isn't much of either involved anyway. It's not done for health (I think we can all agree, pro's aren't exactly an image of good health). It done out of love and a desire to be the the best you possible. For some being their own personal best means one day having a pro card, for some it means adding a few more lbs on their squat or bench next week. But it is that desire and love for this odd sport called bodybuilding that keeps each pro's dream alive of one day becoming Mr. Olympia. Will any of the current older dunderdogs like Dexter, Jay, Gustavo or even the younger ones like Chris Cook, Caprise Murray ever become Mr. Olympia? Probably not, but that won't stop them from trying. :)
