Been Bizzy, plus a question:

pwr_machine, awesome work!

Are pastels the only medium you work with?

You can certainly take a peek at my online portfolio: www.portfolios.com/PatriciaSmith

I'm about two weeks away from updating it.

Thanks! Your online portfolio is pretty cool. Pastels were pretty much all I did through high school. Everything after that was mostly pencil and charcoal.

That is so amazing to have that creative outlet & be able to express yourself that way. I do more "build it" sort of stuff, but nothing that is remotely "pro quality"!

I do watercolors. They're not as impressive as Slinky's work but I enjoy doing them. I've sold a few, usually in the range of $40-$80.

Besides that I love to read sci-fi and horror. Right now I'm reading the Sonja Blue trilogy, chick vampire, very cool.

Pwr_machine and anya:

If you wanna sell or just promote more of your work; there are a few online sites you can do that for free.

Artwanted.com (I have a "mini" portfolio there), and the portfolios.com site has a free option as well. You can also check into the Graphic Artists Guild (I'm a member - there's a online site: www.gag.org). anya, check out the Association of Sci Fi Fantasy Artists (http://www.asfa-art.org/). I'll be joining that org again VERY soon. :D

As a note, here's what I posted over at the T/N board, just to clarify:

"Thanks all. The reason I began this is that after a break from artwork, I recently began drawing and sculpture again. It made me think that there was some sort of connection between my artwork and my training; especially when I specialize in the human form. Art has really helped me (during my competitive BB years), to visualize what I wanted to achieve in terms of physique development. And now, for strength oriented sports, it's helped in my focus. I can sit down with a pencil and paper and just focus on the task at hand; this has helped in training.

Also, there are discussions about techniques to promote CNS recovery. Sleep, massage, yoga, Tai Chi are just some of the techniques mentioned. But what about mental aspects of recovery? For a full sense of well-being?

I enjoy art. Not for the simple fact of just doing it, but it also relaxes my mind; unleashes the creative spirit, if you will. And that helps in everything else I do.

Does this make sense? "
