I do homebrewing and from all of the research I have read baking gear doesn't do a thing - it barely releases any BA which is, for most people, the culprit of the pain. I read one post where someone weighed the gear, baked it for over an hour, reweighed it and the weight difference was nominal.
If you do it I have seen three different recommendations:
Bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 45 minutes, cooling, repeat three times.
Bake at 250 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes, cooling, repeat three times.
Bake at 175 degrees Fahrenheit for 15 minutes, cooling, repeat three times.
From how I understand it, the AAS molecules will be just fine at the higher temp for the longer time period so your gear will remain just as effective.
Specific instructions:
The Golden Rule: Make sure everything is as clean as possible.
1) Get a needle and stick it through the rubber of the vial to allow air to be released when in the oven - otherwise it will explode
2) Place the vial in the oven on cookie sheet
3) Heat for the time periods listed above (whatever you want)
I've heard some guys get aluminum foil and wipe it down with alcohol and stick it over the open end of the needle while it is sitting in vial to prevent debris from accidentally falling into the needle while it is baking.
NOTE: I have never done this because based on my research it is pointless. Everything I have stated above is based on the extensive reading I have done on the subject.
I am sure someone else can tune into this post and add to it.
p.s. I love karma
