Back Injury

I have a meet in two weeks and today was supposed to be my last heavy squat day. I was really pumped and excited about. My warm-ups were feeling really good, lighter than they had in weeks, until I got up to 225. I did one and as I was coming up, I had a sharp pain up and down the middle of my back. So, I racked it and rested a while and tried it again. Hurt to get it out of the rack, but went ahead anyway and racked again after 1 rep because of the pain. I have an athletic trainer friend that is going to work on me tomorrow and I've been icing it for 20 minutes every hour, but I can barely move now. I've also taken a muscle relaxer and a pain killer, but they don't seem to have done a whole lot. This is all I can think of to do right now. Anyone else have any suggestions??

At first it just felt like it was right on top of my spine. Now it feels as if it's on both sides. It goes from my shoulder blades to right above the lumbar area. I didn't feel anything before. It hurt right before I locked out my rep.

I am sure this has affected the ability to walk. . .deep muscle pulls can do this. I have had this before and the only thing I could do was stay rehab and rest.

Oh yeah, walking is tough. This just sucks all the way around.

I know its painful, but it should pass in a few days. Pulls occur even if you are using perfect form. I have pulled a bicep muscle when reaching down to pick up a piece of paper.

You will be OK and you will perform well at your meet. For now, treat your body with care.

id say that is a pull also. Rest it and nurse it, you should be good in two weeks. A chiropractor couldnt hurt either
