Back in the game...but

the wife

New member
Okay, I just started back in the gym (yesterday) after an 8 month hiatus. I know, I know. Just plain and simple laziness and making every excuse in the book not to get back. Any way, when I was on a regular schedule, 5 days a week, 1 hour a day and using a little supplement, I had noticed a significant change in muscle gain, and BFI in 2 weeks! I was amazed and thrilled! I had some side effects, acne, deeping of my voice, etc. but I did turn into a SEX KITTEN, which was GREAT! Because of the negative side effects I am really not considering using a 'sipplement'.

Now, my concern is this, I am scheduling 5 days a week, an hour a day without any supplements. How long do you ladies think it will take to see results? I know everyone is different but some feedback may help me narrow my focus and eliminate some guess work. Also, I have heard quite a bit of information on Anavar. What are the common side effects?

I must say it felt great to be back in the gym, but without taking the supplement, I feel like I don't have that extra "push" during my work out. Help! Thaks ladies, any feedback would be APPRECIATED!

Thanks, Nat :rainbow:

I'm confused. What "supplement" did you take? An AAS? How much? How long?

If you did take an AAS, keep in mind Anavar is an AAS also. The potential side effects will be the same as ANY OTHER AAS.... deepening of voice, ance, oily skin, etc. See the Sticky at the top of this page I put together on "Physique Enhancement".

You say you are scheduling 1 hour, 5 days per week. What exactly are you doing in that time? Cardio? Weights? How long? How much? Intensity? Weights? Type of exercise? Time of day?

How is your diet? Post specifics.....exact food, measurements, condiments, preparation, amounts, size, timing......

What are your stats now? What are your goals?

I was taking Deca (well that's what I was told it was). I was on it for about 4 months and my husband was giving me the shots. So I cannot for sure say how much. I think that there was s questions on whether or not it really was Deca (my husband).

My 1 hour consists of 15-20 minutes of cardio high and low intensity at 2 min. 4 min. intervals. 2 minutes running followed by 4 minutes at a slower pace. I have heard that combinig high and low intensity allows for more calorie burn. For the remiander of my workout I use free weights mainly depeding on the muscle group for that day. For example Yesterday, Day 1, 20 minutes cardio. Biceps, 3 sets, 12 reps of 15lbs, 10 reps of 20, and then as many reps I can push with 25lbs. these are bicep curls. Then
back. I do 2-3 different excercises per muscle group. Two muscle groups a day except when I do legs. I commit one day to just cardio and legs, nothing else. Back and Biceps one day, chest and triceps another, legs, back and bi again, and chest and tri again. Abs just seem to perk right up so I don't feel the need to really commit alot of time to abs.

My workout time is in the evening around 6:30. I work all day, have 2 boys, a husband and a 4 month old Boxer puppy (whi by the way is the sweetest thing I have ever layed eyes on) so this is really my only available time to get there. I tried mornings last year and it was great but too difficult to maintain the schedule, i would either be running late and haev to cut my workout shourt or something. Just didn't work out well.

My diet is not clean. However, high in potein, low white flour mainly wheat flour, not alot of condiments. I don't eat any fast food, havn't for years. I am not a breakfats person at all but, I am forcing myself to eat several small meals a day including breakfast, which is really hard.

I am 5'5", 120lbs., my BFI 8+ months ago was 12%, I am not sure what it is now. But I know it's not 12%!!!!! My goal is to tighten my entire body and to see muscle, to look fit. To lift my ASS! I am turning 30 in two months and my body does not seem to bounce back the same way it used to.

I know this is long, and I am sorry. I just want to make sure I give you all the info I've got to get the best feedback. I am open to any suggestions! Thank you Daisy!

Daisy, thanks for the Sticky info. I printed it out to read. Oh, it was 75mg deca/week.

Lucid, thanks for the link. I'm checking it out.

Thank you! Keep it comming..I'm like sponge at this point!!

Have you made any decisions on a training plan and a diet?

I'm not sure I understand your original post, but if you made good gains and lost bodyfat in the first two weeks of starting deca AND weight training then you can be sure you will get the same results without the deca (in the short term). The anabolic and partitioning effects of deca (or any AAS) takes at least 2-4 weeks to become apparent. Any body composition changes you notice before that are either changes in body fluid or placebo.

In other words the first month of returning to the gym should result in nice results with or without AAS. And diet will be a huge part of the equation with or without AAS.

To answer your question about "supplement-free" results...I know we're all different and although we all seem to get "out of the game" at some time (I'd be shocked to find someone who hasn't!), we all get back into it differently.

As far as my experiences, I've never used anything but a little protein powder and some Ripped Fuel when ephedra was still legal. After some time off, I was able to FEEL results (more energy, etc) within a week and SEE them (clothes starting to be looser) within two on a clean diet, 30 min cardio/day and lifting 3x/week. Within just two weeks back in the gym, muscle memory had kicked in and I was back to lifting where I was before I got injured/lazy/busy/made excuses not to work out (we've all been there :)) and my cardio sessions were back to being their former intensity not long after.

I'm a firm believer in being able to achieve goals without "help" from AAS...using them has never crossed my mind (although I'm not against others doing it if they weigh out all the pros and cons and have researched what they are getting into...I've seen people use AAS or stuff like DNP out of desparation/laziness, and that's not the way to do it). I think we've all got our own genetic potential, and we need to utilize that FIRST...and then, if you feel you must, turn to outside help. (I hope that didn't offend anyone, it wasn't meant to...more of a "to each her own" statement!)
