I have been using VitB12 for years with cattle. It is regarded as a post sickness/ recovery helper with cattle. The aim with it is to boost the animals appettite to increase recovery time. There are three different Vet Vitamin B12 drugs that I use, all made by AgriLabs. The difference between the three is simply price and concentration of the Vit b12. Although I have used more than most vets have ever seen, I have never used it on myself, until a week ago. I am on cycle now, and I wanted to increase appettite. I used the most expensive one ($8.25 for a 250 ml bottle -- B-Complex-Plus --) which is:
B1: 12.5mg
Niacinimide: 12.5mg
B6: 5mg
d-Panthenol: 5mg
B2: 2mg
B12: 1000mcg
I started at 1cc eod, but I've decided to go 1/2cc ed for now. The label calls for IM or SQ injection. I prefer to always use a SQ injection with cattle. BUT, I am not experienced with SQ injections with humans, and feel that IM is the safest way to go personally.
I think that I can tell a difference in appettite already. The injections are easy to load into an insulin syringe, painless, and no soreness whatsoever. The only possible prob I can see is that since the liquid is red in color, it can mean that asperation should be done with the needle slightly pointed upward so that the air bubble is on the needle side and not the plunger side. Although, I don't think that an IV injection would do any harm. It can be given IV, although it is not on the lable. I saw where someone on the board was intentionally injecting it IV.
I like it and will continue to use it.
