Avoiding the skin of chicken

So, obviously eating fried chicken is worse for you than a skinless chicken breast. But, if you take off the skin, is it okay to eat just the meat? My family likes to buy whole chickens with skin, and often at dinner parties and things the only thing available is fried chicken. So I'm wondering, should I feel good or OK or not-so-good about eating just the chicken part? Does the fat from the skin like, seap through to the chicken when it's being cooked or anything?

I like to eat Tyson 100% skinless, boneless chicken breasts when i'm cooking for myself.

I really hate when at dinner things they have "chicken" which is really like 80 percent fried skin and 20 percent chicken...lol i get like 10 of them to fill me up, and will ONLY eat the chicken, same with chicken wings too.. I think I piss some fat people off :FRlol:

I'm sure there would be somewhat higher of a fat content, but if you stuck to reasonable portions of skinned white meat, I would't see the problem.

Avoid these at all cost, though: http://www.deltablues.net/cracklin.html

They're selling the the chicken version now all over the state.

According to the KFC web site even high fat KFC chicken breast without the skin only contains about 4g of fat per 100g. Ok thats still over 36 fat calories but if your out and about in need of protein its an option.

Just make sure the rest of the day is clean and your be fine.

When you take off the skin some of the oil still gets through. If you really want to make sure, take off the skin and use a paper towel to absorb the oil from the chicken breast. I got a few stares last time I did this at a friend's cookout last year. :)

LOL You too? ^^

To answer your initial question RR, you should feel good about eating just the chicken.

If that's all that's available, then you are making a good decision to (1) eat & not starve (2) choose Chicken & (3) remove the skin and even (4) use a nap like alex suggests ...

Boston market! Im pretty sure even without the skin its not that good for ya. Anything fried in oil cant be good. on the other hand it does taste hella good
