better...you're still out of focus on his nose a lil, but it still looks good.
Typically as long as the eyes are in focus the shot will still look good.
and yes the noise is the dotted spots all over the background.
What ISO are you shooting at...you need to lower it.
and your'e probably shooting in fuckin auto mod like a phagget and that's why you're getting noise...Because you bought a stupid fucking camera with a cheap ass kit lens trying to take a pic of your dog inside your house at night w/your shitty apartment lighting and don't know wtf you're doing so you got it in auto mod and the camera is trying to compensate for hte POS kit lens you got and it's automatically bumping the ISO up so the sensor gathers more light.

you can, and you'll get pics like what you're getting. If you're cool with that then keep what you got and don't upgrade at all.
don't touch auto...fuck that shit
shoot in aperture priority or shutter priority to start.
When you get the hang of that you can switch to manual mode.

yeah, and when you shoot in those mods go into your ISO settings make sure it isn't on auto.
Put it at like 100, bump it up a lil if your shutter speed is too slow but try to keep ISO as low as possible.

ISO is the sensor's sensitivity to light. The higher the number, the higher the sensitivity, the more increase in digital noise and reduced sharpness, clarity, color accuracy, white balance, etc.
