No time for CKG. How about Atkins + light daily weight lifting?
Sup folks...I decided to out of the blue it was time to stop screwing around and get healthy, so I threw out all the junk food and started Atkins Monday last week. I also began training at home with weights for the first time in a LONG while. I'd say I do a solid 15-20 minutes per day of hard pumping...doing everything possible with dumbells. (I know 20 mins isn't much compared to some here, but it's better than what I did before, ZERO)
Anyway, it has been 10 days since I began Atkins, and I have been in Ketosis for a week (the stips usually show a pink color) however I haven't lost any actual weight on the scale. Does this mean the diet isn't working, or is it possible that the diet IS working, and I'm actually burning fat and replacing it with an equal amount of lean mass from the new lifting I've been doing? I know theoretically you can only do one at a time (cut or bulk), but I can think of no other explanation for this stagnation on the scale. My total caloric intake is roughly the same as it was before Atkins, but I'm obviously getting much higher amounts of protein/fat, and fewer carbs than before.
With my schedule, I can't do the CKG diet with the on/off "carb loading" days, so I'm stuck with the plan described above.
Has anyone had experience with this? A steady Ketone diet of 20-25g carbs combined with small amounts of lifting every day = ZERO weight change on the scale....but melting fat replaced by new muscle?
Will this work? Any suggestions appreciated.
