Arnold wasn't THAT small in Collateral Damage

mvmaxx

After reading all the posts here about how Arnold has shrunken to nothing I expected to see a shriveled little man in Collateral Damage. He wasn't that bad!! He was still bigger than any other yahoo in that movie and still had a decent chest and guns. I mean sure he wasn't "1975 Olympia big" but WTF do you expect? He's 55years old for cryin out loud. He definitely did NOT look like he was 200lbs like some have said.

I agree. I dont care really, but I agree nontheless!:D ANYhow, I've seen him look smaller to be honest. I thought he looked good too, but was dissappointed that they didn't show the giant hack-mark running down his chest from when they cracked him open.

That flick sucked by the way.

for an old man going on 60, i think he's looking great.

no jokes on that statement mr. mvmaxx. .. .

First off, it was a good movie. A lot of people just couldn't stand to see Arnold as an every day guy. I think it was a good turn for him. It is a perfect warm up for T3, True Lies 2 and King Conan.

As for his size, 200lbs is a joke. He looks to be in his late 30s, early 40s in his face, and most guys half his age would die to have his body. If you look at the scene in the shower, you can tell he still has those massive pecs, and then you see his thigh for a moment on the operating table, and they are still good sized. His arms look HUGE still, if you look at the scene with the wife beater, well, damn, thats all I have to say. He must weigh in at 220-230 at least. Sure it looks like his body fat is a little higher, but you can tell it's all still there.

Keep in mind the guy is 55 years old. He has NOTHING left to prove with his body. People talk shit on him all the time these days. The truth is, he has accomplished more than any of us ever will. He has nothing to prove with his body anymore. He has won all there was to win in bodybuilding, broke and set records, and made countless action flicks showcasing his body and stength. In recent years in movies like Twins, Collateral Damage, etc he has proven he can act. He has nothing to prove to anyone. He has done it all, and lives a great life. It's funny how some people can sit on a pc and talk shit.

ps. Looking at Arnold in Collateral Damage, I thought how funny it was that he is just as big, if not bigger than Vin Diesel, hollywoods current 'muscle man'.

A few comments, if I may:

1. "An everyday guy"??? How many everyday guys go to Columbia and infiltrate and destroy a Guerilla Drug Ring single-handed? Damn bro, you must know some really interesting "everyday guys" I guess! I think that THAT is the one element of Arnolds movies that peoples have long since grown morbidly EXHAUSTED of to be honest.

2. "Vin Diesel is Hollywoods current muscleman". Ugh! Thats sad, if true.

3. "Arnold can act". Bro Arnold can so NOT act!! He is probably the WORST actor Ive ever SEEN to be honest! You make the guy sound like Denzel Washington.

4. "He has accomplished more than most of us ever will". Very true. His movies in the last several years though, are quite redundant & blase' imo though brother. He hasnt had a 1/2 decent flick since "True Lies".

Currently vin diesel is the top 5 muscle man but the man who will be number one soon is bob cicherillo, yes bob cicherillo he has 2 herculean/greek type movies coming out in 2003 and 2004

Ugh bro, I didn't claim he was Denzel. If you watch Twins, Junior and even Conan, you can see the man can clearly act. Not an a list actor, but certainly not an Ed Wood reject. Watch the important moments in Conan, especially after he kills James Earl Jones. As he sits on those steps. Those few silent moments speak volumes.

Yes, sadly Vin Diesel appears to be the next big action star. He can act based on Boiler Room, and perhaps the un seen Knock around guys. But he sold out to make millions on cheap 'yo b, whad up!" action flicks, and to tell you the truth, I can't say I blame him. Who wouldn't for 20mill a flick?!

If you look at almost all of Arnolds other flicks, he does in fact play and every day man. Here you have a firefighter who has just lost his family (a very real threat right now), he waits for justice, and does not get it. He doesn't hijack a plane and steal a bunch of guns like in commando and blow everyone away. He does something that could actually be done. He actually does research, and sneaks in, gets caught, and gets his ass beat plenty. He is NOT made up to be a super hero who saves the day. Not once does he pick up a gun, not once does he kick 10 guys ass, he made one explosion with skills he knows from his job. Thats all. He gets caught by the police, and then by the rebels. He barely go out alive. Not once do you see him all oiled up with camaflouge pants saving the day. If you want to talk about unrealistice, look at Denzel, the great actor you mention. His Training Day, and John Q are MORE unrealistic than this one. I bet if Harrison Ford would have done this movie (he was going to), and not Arnold, you would suddenly talk about how real, and legit it was.

As for his past few movies sucking, give the guy a break. He still got $20 mill a piece for them, and he took a break off for 2 years. It's never easy when you come back, especially 2 years, and just having heart sugery. 6th day sucked, End of Days has good rental value on a friday night, but Colleteral Damage was actually a good flick, and a turning point for him. Thats my opinion, and I am entitled to it, like you are to yours. And again, I am sure he gives two shits, what you or I think. It doesn't matter if his next flick is the biggest hit of all time, or it makes $10 bucks, he has done it all, and is living out all his dreams. That can't be said for most people these days....

Not Puff, sadly chic won't be on a top 5 anything list. Those two sand and sandal flicks he is doing, are for a low budget studio, and are direct to video. Since Arnold, Sly, etc are now on there way out, it seems all we will be stuck with are Vin and The Rock :(

Agreed, to all.

Jesus dude, why do you care so much anyhow??? Thats a little frightening how much thought you just put into thinking all that out. Ok, your hero can act ok?! Live vicariously much do ya?!

Wow, nice. I put together a reply post (and I don't know what counts as much thought, it took about 5mins to type, if that), and you respond with a put down. I simply replied with my opinions, just as you. No need to feel 'attacked'. As for Arnold being my hero, no. But a bodybuilding idol yes. Hey, you have your Denzel poster up, I have pumping iron. LOL Come on, laughter, you remember what that is? :D

And yes Golfer is correct, Jean Claude must be the worst actor of all time. I don't know how he ever even got any movies made. Those first two were alright (Bloodsport and Kickboxer), but once that whole underground fight theme got old he wasn't good for much.
