Charles Poliquin swears by 2-3g of arginine postworkout along with a lot of carbs for increased glycogen compensation. Hes definitely worth listening to so I am curious if anyone else has heard anything else about this?
If you want to follow coach Poliquin's recommendations, you are going to use a ton of glutamine. He recommends usually 15 grams. I guess 10 grams of creatine is alright, and you are only going to need 2 grams of arginine.
I wouldn't recommend sweet tarts post workout. You are going to want another liquid form of carbs. That way, your carbs and protein will be absorbed more evenly.
i have been taking 250mg ALA with my carb-protein shake after working out, would arginine in addition be of benefit? or is either one working sufficiently?

I don't know to be totally honest w/ you. I know ala is a glucose disposal unit. I'm not sure however, how the arginine works. I've taken both myself, and I felt better w/ the Arginine.
Personally, I think ALA is overated. Almost anything that comes from the medical field turns out to be a flop.
i don't think ALA should be taken post workout. You want an insulin spike in this situation.
About the arginine, and i've been trying to find this out w/ no results. Recommendations say to take Arginine on empty stomach. Will it be wasted if taken w/ a protein shake?
