Hey girl! Glad you posted up! If you want, start a new thread with your current diet and we can see about how to help clean it up in a way that gets you results but is also not a pain in the rear to do. :)

Hello!
I am new to the message boards, and I have been reading and reading...I enjoy all of your posts!

2) In your first post please include:
- your stats: weight, height, bodyfat%
- your goals -- what are you trying to accomplish?
- your current training & cardio schedule
- your current meal plan, including with each meal, portions, what you are eating and when you eat.
- any salient medical concerns

28 y/o, 115 lbs, 5'1", 21% BF, no kids

I am just now getting back into working out full-time (I was in a car accident, and couldnt workout for 10 months) -- I have a personal trainer 2x/wk to bust my butt back into shape. I am looking to be in fitness competitions, so I want to bulk up and high muscle definition. I do realize this will be LOTS of work, which I'm prepared for!! I am thinking 15% BF @ 100lbs...or is this wrong for my goals? I mainly need help with diet, supplements, "bulking" advice, etc....

I do cardio 4-5x per week, 20 min -- do interval "squats" on the eliptical
My personal trainer has me doing Core training right now, but I'm sure starting next week we will be hitting the weights pretty good.

Early morning - take vitamins (Multi-Vitamin, EFA/GLA, Coral Calcium, B-Complex, Cranberry, Ginko Biloba, Digestive Enzyme), medications (birth control pills: progesterone only, neurontin, verapamil)
Late Morning - Strawberry Smoothie (frozen strawberries, acidophilus powder, protein powder, Flax Seed oil, psyllium husks, cinnimon, stevia, water)
Late Late Morning - Steel Cut Oatmeal (steel cut oats, berry protein powder, cinnamon, stevia, 1 small spoon of butter, hot water) & eat 1 whole apple
Lunch (Afternoon) - chicken, spinach, brown rice (varies day to day)
Late Afternoon - 2 hard-boiled eggs & celery sticks
Dinner (Night) - chicken/fish, green veggies. (take my medications: neurontin, pamelor)
Bedtime - GI Cleanse (fiber)

My medication conditions: (spillin' my guts here...haha): Migraines (from car accident, but I dont have them anymore if I take my meds), High Blood Pressure (take meds for that), ADD (dont currently take any meds for this - natural approach). I honestly have also started taking hGH, just so you guys know when giving advice and such....

Oh, and on the weekends (Sat & Sun) I cook "Protein Pancakes" with fresh blueberries, stevia, cinnimon...for breakfast instead of the Steel Cut Oatmeal.

Hi, after lurking here for a few months I guess its time to introduce myself. first off let me say that i have enjoyed and learned from reading everyone's posts.
age - 42, 5'6", 140#, bodyfat-no idea, i can see my six-pak, hubby and three dogs.

i've been weight training off/on since college, the rachel mclish days, but seriously started back in 2000. got into competing in bbing in 2003. so far i've been moderately successful. most recently, (sept 17, 24th), placed 2nd as a middleweight and then 1st masters, weight class and overall. needless to say i'm still glowing from that win.

im taking a couple months off then i'm going back into contest mode for some showsin the spring.

right now im going through the post contest feeding frenzy; need to start taking hoodia i guess!!

well that's my intro, i really like this board especially since so many people on here compete. as a bodybuilder, there really aren't that many girls where i live that compete as such. lots of figure though. all my friends do figure comps, me, im the lonely bber.
thanks
teresa

i almost forgot, thanks sassy for posts on water depleting. for my last show i tried something you had posted on dropping water by 20% every day. between my show on the 17th and the 24th, i dropped about 9lbs, came in my best condition ever by using that method. had tried other ways, finally found one that worked best for me.

Hey girl! Welcome! Ain't BB great? One of the few sports you can get better at w/ age. I'm so glad the water thing worked for you. I have only had a chance to try it for one show but it worked well. I really didnt' even notice that I was water depleting. Literally down to like 8 oz of only distilled water for my supplements on show day. I really want to try it again, but w/ my current schedule , have to wait for next year.

Welcome to the boards! Can you post some pix?

Hi everybody. I am Celia (27 years old) and I've just started my fitness journey. Also, I would really like to follow a good diet program. Any tips for newbies :D ?
Thanks.

Hey celia -

Welcome to EF! What you are looking for is in the first post of this thread -- there are 2 links for "Shadow's Project" -- this is an excellent program put together earlier this year by The Shadow, our token "guy" on the ladies' board. Several of the girls have started off their "fitness journey" following this for a few months and a number of gone on to enter their first figure competitions based on the inspiration of this program.

Also I recommend that you read the diet board for tips. There isnt' one canned diet that will just "work" for everyone because we all have diff metabolisms, diff bodies, diff stresses & joys in life, etc. I also like to recommend the Body for Life book by Bill Phillips -- you don't necessarily have to follow that book's program but it is an *excellent* introduction to good basic nutrition & training & cardio. If you can understand the basics, you have a much better understanding of how it all goes together & how you can tweak your particular program to match your needs & your body.

Another thing to point out is that no, you dont' have to live off boiled chicken & broccoli to lose bodyfat. Check out our Recipe Thread and also the diet board -- Jenscats5 & ChefWide have some especially great recipes / suggestions for making dieting less of DIE w/ a T.

And finally -- dont' forget your training. Diet is a huge part of it , but the training is what makes you feel better in general & allows you to build muscle & lose bodyfat. What is your current training regimen?
