Are you 5% bodyfat or below?

Never even been to 5%... 11.5 or so is the lowest that I can remember in my adult life...Was prolly around 9 or 10 in my senior year of high school...Damn, that was 22 years ago!

When I was young and in wrestling, I cut weight. Once, I went from 165lbs down to 130lbs. I actually ended up @ 127. Anyway, I was @ 7.5% BF before I even started cutting that weight. Long story short, i prob was below 5% and I never felt more shitty and weak in my life! Opened up the season's first match by seperating my ribs! Young and dumb! All those years I wasted trying to get smaller, when my body was trying to grow, is a shame!

not quite 5% i am 6.5% now 6ft4in 282lbs trying to get to 5% but once you
get below 10% it takes work and time

Never was and never will be. I'm at about 14% now and it's hard enough for me to stay there.

Stay about 10%, was at 8% during my last cycle, which actually was a bulker (go figure), I plan on getting it down around 7-8% this go round of Sust/Tren/EQ/WInny.

5'9 202lbs currently 10%

Yea those are some pretty bold stats to claim with that low of a bodyfat %, i would love to see some pics of that 1. How old are you and how many cycles under your belt?

currently a 3%...just keeping falling through my asshole and hanging myself :chomp: yeah right...lol

i hate people that call bullshit whenever someone posts a low BF number.
i usually sit around 5 percent YEARROUND. yes that is true. i am currently at 6.5% and it looks good on me, but i like to be leaner. keeps me looking super jacked.

My buddy is the same way bro..Yearround he is 5-6% and gets to 4 or below for his shows..

yea titan what up boy. when i was down at 155-165 i was 5% year round no problem. not that i'm bigger its more like 6-7% at 181-185 depending on what ive eaten that day

been under 5% before. Stayed there for a couple years. It was just too hard to put on any muscle at that bf%. I was only a buck 85 back then. Now I'm about 9% at 205 and feel much better about how I look.

dullboy was 7% once and hated it.

props to all the bros who compete...don't know how they do it. dullboy lacks the desire and discipline.

Me too, its friggin alot of work to keep it low like that.. I love my pasta and pizza too much.. :p

the average person has zero clue how much work it takes to be a true "bodybuilder".

they think you take some steroids, work out for 6 weeks, and *poof* you look like 1977 arnold.

I am realisticly 15 to 16% body fat right now. I can see 8 abs when relaxed. When flexed I can start to see some obliques a little.
I took these the other night with my phone. The quality sucks...

http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=36

My gym had me at 8.5% with a 7 point caliper test. I decided to get dunked. I came out at 15%. The company that did it works with professional athletes and is well known in the area. They also performed a caliper test (6 points I believe) and it came back at 11.6% or something like that.

In my signature picture I had viens in my abs, chest etc. I would guess I was 11 to 12% if I was dunked. The dumbass's at my gym figured I was 6.5%give or take a few points.

The company that dunked me told me the lowest they ever saw was 4.1% on a distance runner. He was around 140 pounds.
They also told me that they had seen a few bber's as low as 10%.

Needless to say. Getting dunked and finding out your real body fat can be depressing!

Damn bro if you were 11 on your signature,I am around 14-15 lol,I think I am going to go jump off a bridge now hahahaha. ;)

Most people will never see 8% in their life. If you have ever been below that you are almost guranteed to feel like crap (fatigue, soreness, difficulty sleeping). I had a workout partner who won a big name bb competition (Nationals). He was a naturally big guy and had trouble leaning out for the shows. He had a problem with passing out on his feet the closer he got to the night of the show. It was bad enough that he quit competing.

I have low test levels. They make me hold a little extra fat on the belt line. At last check I was 302ng/dl :worried:
Get dunked some time. It is pretty cool.
The results are eye opening though when it comes to body fat!

I am pretty sure my test levels are pretty low right now,I am runing clomid for the second time since I went off to try to bring them back,if they dont go back to were Im feeling normal again I might just go on HRT.My motivation and everything else is through the roof but but sex drive is on the floor wich is not normal for me.

i frankly don't know how guys do it. it has to be genetics.

the only way i can get below 10% when i run 20+ miles a week.

then i wind up losing mass, so it's self defeating.

Yo bro, where in the hell have you been????

You have to admit though, 285lbs at 6.5% bf is a tough accomplishment. Makes it a bit hard to believe without pics. Especially from somene who's been on the board about 5 minutes.

tough?????

there a masters national guy at my gym, 320 in the off season, steps on stage at @ 250, probably 5% bf. i could care less if someone says there 5'8" 190 and 5%, that is accomplishable, hard but can be done. but to simply hover @ 300 pounds with paper thin skin naturally, come the f on. lets be realistic here.

I agree with you on this one! He may be but to just come on this board and then post them stats..... I have to see some pics or something! If he is those stats! Awesome!!!

im about 177 and 5% at 5'9, age 24..just came off my 2nd show...took the overall also...felt great...
now for you wondering what 5% looks like...using the 3 point caliper method be4 the night show i was: chest=2mm, abs=3mm, legs=3mm...when u can get a 10mm total or below thats a good way of know knowing youre good enough for a contest
visceral fat in a normal folk generally is around2.8% of your bodyfat so your external bodyfat should be 2.2% or lower if you want to be 5% bodyfat...just so you guys know

=)

Also to the guy who said its all genetics...WRONG ANSWER...i was 120 at 5'9 and 12% bodyfat at age 17 after 1 year of dedicated training but not much idea of the right way to train or eat...
its hard work, consistency, knowledge, nutrition/supps/training and all those other things that make a good champion...i would know *wink*

To say that bodybuilding is not genetics is also false. It has alot to do with it.. It is also a science.. But I wont disagree with the hard work, nutrition, etc..

wow 282 with 6.5% body fat.
hmmmmmnnnnn!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
really would like to see those pics cause we got may have jsut found a future mr olympia.
please post the pics, i cant wait to see them.

Im in the low to mid 240's in contest shape(id guess 5% or so, i never take my bodyfat, i go strictly by the mirror)
to be in the low 280's at 6% is incredible. Im not doubting him, there wa a guy i used to work with @ my old gym who was 6'4 290-300 lbs fuggin shredded year round. never competed though cause his calves were shitty, he had alot of crazy synthol bodyparts, and he liked binging on cookies to much(lazy fucker never knew how to diet)

to an extent you need genetics..but all good genetics really does is give you a head start. if you can move up and improve consistently with your physique...the sky is the limit in my opinion...

ugh...if i ate mcdonalds every day while bulking id gain fat like crazy....i gotta maintain a strict and timed diet in order to maintain a good bodyfat %..so in that regard my genetics arent "great"...but with nutrition and science/knowledge combined, i can still beat genetically gifted guys..like i said genetics just gives you a head start...it doesnt make or brake you...the drive/knowledge/consistency in and out of the gym is what makes a good bodybuilder, genetics or not. striving to gain 8-10lbs a year lean muscle on gear while keeping proportions perfect and bodyfat will ensure alot of progress...anyone should be able to do this...i dont care if you have the worst genetics in the world (well, almost the worst)...if you know HOW to do it right i think anything's possible..but thats just my opinion..

bodyfat is the most underestimated concept in bodybuilding....Do you know what it's like to be 5%? It's hard to live, trust me. Cold/hot flashes, muscle twitching, etc....it's no fun. Unless you compete, I have a hard time believeing many are sub 5%. I bet the average on this board is 10-15% and 10% is pretty damn lean. I'm tested at 7.9% two months ago and I don't want to be much lower. Prob. will be 10-11% after this bulking summer.

never said it's "all" genetics...

please don't quote dullboy out of context - it's confuses everyone and has the potential to cause people to lose respect for dullboy which would be very unfair. *wink*

remember - dulboy has been as low as 7% (@ 220) so he has at least a little idea what he's talking about. just a little.

Absolutely bro.. I believe genetics is a big advantage.. I see guys in the gym that have looked the same for 10 years, but I seem to have a little genetics on my side when it comes to shoulders and arms..Everything else I have to work my ass off to improve.. I wish my chest looked bigger, my shoulders overpower it..

yeah...even some big guys at my gym have looked the same year in and year out. i hardly ever see anyone changing at my gym...just 1 or 2 guys out of thousands. My chest seems to grow out of control so i need to do less to control that...same with legs/back. delts/arms on the other hand i need to bust my ass to gain..same with calves.

Agreed! A lot of people have a misconception when it comes to what their bf% is. Im not saying that everybody who claims they're at 5% is full of it, but the reality is that most people are off when they judge their bf%. Even those who get tested with calipers are off a lot of times. If you dont have someone who knows EXACTLY how to perform the caliper test, then your results will be off. And the caliper test isnt exact to begin with anyways. I bet less than half the people on this board that claim they're less than 6% bf are actually really that low.

Well I did get tested, and my bodyfat was below 6%, as I said I didnt hold that for a lengthy period of time because I guess my genetics wont allow it. Depends where you hold fat I guess, my upper body tends to get quite lean compared to my lower body which is always the last to come.

all u guys test your BF? if i had to guess i'm at 13-15%. lowest ever tested once was 7%. i would love to be close to that again.
