anyone with polygraph experiance

I was given a conditional offer for a Cadet position with my county's sheriff's department.

I have a polygraph examination within the next few weeks. I would greatly appreciate anyone who could share their experiance with me.

I'm a little nervous and wouldnt want to give a false postive.

Actually my friend, I would just be yourself, when its time to lie, do it professionally with calm and sincere demeanor, I have passed 2 polygraphs, each administrator of the poly asked if I had ever partaken in drugs, etc, with extra detailed questions, I calmly said "NO". Good luck!

Take a low dose valium. Valium will lower your heart rate and respitory rate. The machine monitors that and changes in that is an indication of deception. So dose a valium and lye your ass off.

There is a very simple "trick" for passing polygraphs when you need to lie. All polygraph answers are YES or NO. Spend an afternoon repeating YES NO YES NO NO YES YES YES over and over... till the words have little meaning... and put your answer out of your mind immediately after you say the word.

Polygraphs are stress tests... nothing more. They check to see if you show a stress reaction after an answer. The YES NO trick conditions you to ignore your answers and not think about them after you have answered the questions.

I live in New Jersey. It's actually against State Law to use the polygraph examination for hiring purposes in this state. No law enforcement agencies in this state are allowed to administer the test in the application process or any other way.

Maybe you should think about a change of location. Departments in this state pay very good as well. Some departments are paying near $100,000 a year.
