first off i never overtrained. the volume is so low.

\okay off the top of my head

okay PTP you take your max and do a set of five.rest. lower the barbell weight (90% of the first weight) and do another set of five.

thats it.

for the bear you drop the weight again and continue doing sets of five till you start to get a bit shaky(80%of original weight)

you have to cycle the weight you use though. start low and cycle up and up every day/second day....then drop back again. i forgot what percentage he prescribes

PTP can be done a maximum 5 days a week. the rest time is 3-5 mins
bear 2-4 times a week

You have to build up your capacity for training. most bodybuilders are considered out of shape because of the amount of work they can handle. but of you increase you work outs week by week you can pretty much do anything considering you rest and eat

Hi endpoint. SO what at the bear you do BODYPART 2-4 times per week?

How can you build up "your capacity for ttraining" ? By starting low and gradually increasing volume?

For bear you dont need to do a certain number of sets? Go by the feeling of "shakiness" ?

ANd what did you mean by "bodybuilders are out of shape because of amount of work they can handle?"
Reply please thanx!

I think what he means is that Bodybuilders don't recuperate very fast. For example, the russian troops he trained had to train many times a week....they can't afford to be sore for 4-5 days.

your thinking like a body builder. Im not talking body parts forget body parts. movements or exercises if you will

I cant speak for pavel but he is very opposed to body building.

he comes from a different school......a school which i study.

we are talking strength not beach muscles, functional strength

go to t-mag.com do a search for Pavel and you will find an interview with his ideas on training.

you only train side press or bench, and dead lift....although once you build a bigger work capacity throw in chin ups and things like that.

yeah start slowly and build your way up

tension techniques

hey endpoint,
do you happen to remember what all the tension techniques for the bench press are (squeeze the bar, etc.)? i found squeezing the bar several places online, but i think there are more techniques that i havent been able to find. any help would be greatly appreciated

I have not tried the whole routine but my booth at the arnold was right next to Pavel's and he put me thru the ringer (those Russians like to make us look stupid in front of a crowd :) ) Anyways, i did a few exercises and it was pretty cool, fun stuff. I wouldnt do it for mass but it did work muscles that I have never used before. especially liked the kettle bell stuff, this move was tough...
