Anyone seen "Lost in America"? How much money would it take to drop out of society?

Watched "Lost in American" last night. Funny movie with Albert Brooks(think he is Mel's kid not sure) Anyway it was about this ad executive that quits his and gets his wife to quit hers. Sell everything buy a mobile home and travel with a nest egg. Well they shouldn't have stopped in Vegas because his ole lady goes whaco and blows the nestegg on Roulette.

Anyway they had a $140k to live on for the rest of their lives I guess. I don't think they could have done it on that much.

How much would it take you think to drop out and not work anymore and just travel? I think maybe 4 to 500k if you were a penny pincher.
