He was actually a powerlifter before he started bodybuilding, and he still uses a lot of powerlifting sets in his real workouts, not the Flex mag workouts.
Of course, those of us who have seen him workout here, have added powerlifting sets throughout our workouts. I actually like the results with it. I seriously think he could deadlift at least 950, without a problem. I've seen him do 850 with very little shaking. He also benched 725 without a bench shirt.
