Anyone here tried Myoplex lite meal replacement ?

Hi.

I wanted to know if anyone here has any feedback on Myoplex lite ready to drink meal replacements ?

I just bought a few 4-packs & was told by salesmen from GNC it's a real good quick meal when you don't have the time to sit & eat a complete meal.

190 calories, 25 grams protein, 20 grams carbs.

do you think this ratio is ok for a quick on-the-go meal ?

BTW the chocolate fudge flavor is incredible ! ! !

Thanks :rainbow:

I've tried it, long long ago. It is pretty yummy. I always had the tropical flavors, though.

I think as an on-the-go meal, in a pinch, when nothing else can be had it is good. I wouldn't take one daily, maybe 1-2 a week. I think the carbs are too simple for a regular meal. The 190 calories from a liquid meal will likely hold you over for about a hour. Then, you'll end up hungry very quickly and eat MORE than if you had eaten a real food meal.

But if it is a Myoplex or a McD Value meal with extra large fries .......

Back when I first started working out, I tried the Body-4-Life diet which has 3 regular meals plus 3 Myoplex shakes per day. Great selling tool, right?! Needless to say, I have a hard time stomaching Myoplex shakes now. I got to the point where I felt like I was going to vomit if I drank one more!

But anyway, since I have a half of a box left I use them only when I have to. If I have to go somewhere unexpectedly or when I am waiting for my next shipment of protein powder to come in. I really think that's how meal replacements should be used - only when you have to.

Those are yummy!!! I was telling my boyfriend how I was going start using them again while I am at work when it gets busy and he said to beware because they all have the bad carbs as their carbs. But Myo-lite has little carbs. Either way he said pro-lab has oat carbs or something like that! I am not 100% sure but I know that bad carbs and sugar are what keep all that extra fat on me :worried:

What do you recommend?

I have been using the regular Myoplex (regular) shakes for 2-3 of my 6 daily meals. I was just considering purchasing the myoplex lite as an alternative.

Is there a better option in regard to meal replacement shakes? :fro:

I'd say no. Cheapest price and forumulation is identical to Metrx. And if you girls are pumping iron you need those carbs for fuel. Do not believe the hype that fat calories are comparable quality fuel source for lifting.

Myoplex is bloody expensive! Even the light.

I'd suggest, going to GNC and finding an alternative to myoplex.

I like GNC's mega MRP. You get a ton and it's not bad. The vanilla and strawberry taste like shit though. Go with the chocolate.

Mix with water and it's low cal with lots of protien and medium carb content.

Isn't myoplex full of aspartame?

Your post confused me. Will you clarify?

It's a lot cheaper than Metrx though over time. When I mentioned it was the cheapest I meant relative to MRPs of equal quality. I'm waaaay iffy on GNC brands.
