I know there are many who know what I am talking about! When you curl with an ez curl bar or machine that has your hands on an angle. The pain is not there during the set, but as soon as you let the bar go you get a sick pain in the lower bone of the forearm ( I guess it would be the ulna) http://mywebpages.comcast.net/wnor/antpostrad&ul.jpg I have a few friends that get this pain as well so it must be fairly common. WTF is it, an is there a way to get rid of it/dampen the pain. I do not get the pain when I use a straight bar.

for me the pain is worse when I use a straight bar, less on EZ-Curl bar, and none on hammer curl. It is a fairly common overuse "injury". RICE seems to be the only thing along with ibuprofen 600mg as needed, that helps. I think its in the flexor digitorum profundus (muscle) group. for me it doesnt seem to be tendon related as I dont feel the pain in the tendons but rather the muscle (along the middle of the ulna rather than either end). I think that if you had access to a top sports medicine doc, they might have some better solutions. In the meantime, rest it, ice it, compress it if it helps, and take ibuprofen if you need to.

I am almost sure the pain is in the bone... perhaps a stress fracture of some kind. In that case i find it strange that i (and others) would only feel the pain post-set.

And BTW... what is this new karma thing "the karma power" vs "karma points"??

Fuck yes! I've been feeling it for the past three days after doing just 3 sets of heavy preacher curls. It is bearable whilst curling, but as you take the tension off the wrist it really comes on. I'm not sure if it's better for us to tape up or not but it does stop the pain. It has caused me to use dumbells most of the time.

Try keeping the knuckles pointed towards your body as opposed to having the knuckes bend backwards towards the floor. This technique works for me.

Yes, pain is mostly post set...keep fucking with it and not resting it and you'll feel it during the set too. And, it's not bone pain, I can almost surely guarantee that...like 99%.

Not really sure about all that karma stuff, but I can give you some!!!

gofastman, I used to have this really bad. Pain was horrible and felt like my bone was going to snap so I know exactly what you are talking about. I was using the EZCURL bar. It was not as bad with straight, but still bad.

Solution? Stop that exercise for awhile.

I switched to incline seated dumbell curls for awhile then went back to EZ bar curls without pain, but keep switching up the routine so as not to overtrain on curls again.
