any of you guys who know what your doing have an opinion on the hst program, it seems kinda crazy to me doing your whole body 3 times a week thats the kinda thing i did when i started lifting 10 years ago. but im willing to try it. so what do you guys think of it?

comp diet question

wanted to know if anyone had advice....
i'm not a bodybuilder....but jog and weight train regularly(mostly jog)...
i wanted to know if the comp diet will help lean me out especially in the women trouble zones....butt hips and thighs ...also how long before you notice any results? thanks

I have completely blown up on HST, and it honestly seems like I'm losing fat at the same time. In reality, I'm probably just not gaining any fat, but I'm closing in fast on 200 when I was only 180 a few months ago. My first cycle was not that successful because I did not use very slow negatives or strict form. The 3 second negative with very strict form seems to make a huge difference. I'd say give it a try, it is really good for building mass.

The only downsides I see are that the workouts get boring and there is little gain in strength accompanying the gain in size.

triplesix, I've tried 5 X 5, DC, and other various programs out there and while HST may not work for all,..it certainly works for me. Its all based on very solid hypertrophic principals, so if your goal is to add mass,..certainly give it a shot.

On my 3 HST cycle now did first two a year or so ago, then tried 5 X 5, & DC, then went to a Westside Routine for 10 weeks. Now back on HST. Westside is actually very similar to HST in its hypertrophic effects in a lot of ways.

For me what works and what I'll be continuing with is cycling back and forth between HST and Westside every 6 months or so.

After taking some time off from lifting and starting back up a few years ago my bis went from around 15 3/4 to a now just over 18 inches. Back has a ton more mass (especially on HST) and overall body has kept right along with Bi growth.

Only thing you really need to change on the HST program in my opinion if you're an experienced lifter is the "Eating or size" portion of it. I really needed to up the calories on that part for adding mass.
