I need help! I'm competing very soon (in powerlifting) and I'm having my period!I Don't need that in comp! I do some water retention and it's not good because I'm really borderline for my weight class. I can't take some diuretic because it would affect my strenght. What could I do?? I started taking some clen 2 days ago but I'm not sure it will help since I don't need to loose fat, I just need to loose water.

My hubby has clomid at home..so, since it's anti-estrogen, do you think that if I'm taking some, it would help me ??

Thanks!
LG

the antiestrogen effects of clomid are very weak and it is doubtful to have a major effect on your water retention, you would need a stronger anti-e which would not nessacarily be good for you considering you are having your period. You may want to try just upping your water intake as high as you can tolerate, 3 gallons or so and you will force your body not to hold water. Sweating should help so if you were to do some light cardio or throw a little ECA or NYC type supplement to stimulate your body it may also help you to rid yourself of unwanted water.

Maybe the ladies have a better idea then me....since im not one.

good luck :)

Clomid will absolutely not help, nor will any of the anti-Es I know of. Remember, what is an anti-E for males looking to prevent gyno is often ESTROGENIC if you happen to have a functional set of ovaries. Clomid is a fertility drug in women, it increases ovulation and the most common side effects in women are water retention and weight gain!

How far away is your competition??

ok, no clomid!
What else could I try? My comp is this weekend and my periods last at least a week. i started yesterday.
Thanks
LG

Well if you're like most women, the fluid retention should be gone by the weekend anyway since you started yesterday. There's not a lot you can do other than mild dehydration or decarbing, both of which could affect your strength.
