Another over 40..I can take the flames

40s Club

You are representing the 40s club with distinction. Mass is nice, but you have struck a balance that is good. More of a "Mens Health" type body than "Flex" mag if you know what I mean
 
Fantastic achievements! The abs complete the package -- I think people dont' understand how impressive a 6-pack is - esp to those of us who can't even get them followign competition starve down. All natural is even better. These are results you will have the rest of your life! Congrats!

What are your goals now? Beef up? AS? Competition? Drive the ladies wild? :D

Well, the latter would be nice :D

Seriously, going to try and add some mass, but not in any real hurry. I know it isn't as efficient, but I'm trying to stay as lean as I can while doing it.

Probably not on the AS, don't have any delusions about being able to compete. Though I may give the pro-hormones a shot later, and depending on how that goes, who knows?

Might want to do more research on this before dropping the bux... I have yet to hear anything other than "don't waste your money" on this....but then I"m not an expert....

Plan to. I've tried to research as much as I can. I think PA is running a study on 1-AD right now.

Anyway, that's down the road, if ever. I figure I've got at least another year of fairly decent gains just through diet and straight training. I'll re-assess things then.
 
I don't visit these boards very often, but you certainly made me glad that I did!

That is simply amazing! A true testament to the fact that ANYONE at ANY AGE can do it if they arm themselves with discipline and knowledge.

Shit you make a lot of the brothas HALF your age look bad........and I find this VERY APPEALING.

Keep it up. Now it is time to add some mass (if you so desire).:D
 
Excellent job. From one 40 year old (41 in 2 weeks) to another, I have a very simliar build just about 5% more bf. I am currently woking down to 10% and trying to hold the muscle.

The big problem for people our age is how do we put on mass, keeping the BF% down. Our hormones are on a major decline and our metabolism is slowing to a crawl so to add mass(muscle) without AS is a HUGE and slow challenge.

Pro-Hormones may not work for the 20 and 30 year olds but I believe they might be of use to us over 40's to give a little kick where we have lost some.

I would say to give them a try for a couple of months, you really don't have that much to looses.

Bikinimom, I checked out your site, and all I can say is: DAAYUMM! Umm, so you said VERY APPEALING?? :D

Trying to add some mass. Goal is 10-15 lbs by next summer, at about the same BF. But like strider said, I'm really paranoid about adding fat, considering where I came from. Having a hard time convincing myself to eat enough. Haven't been in 30 jeans since High School, and it'll be hard to put them back up, even for a little while.

Strider, you got me by a couple weeks. Won't turn 41 for another month. I think you're right about pro-hormones, but I want to try and gain without them to establish sort of a "baseline". I want to be able to compare results, and see if the PH's actually did anything over and above diet and training.

You might want to talk to your doctor. Depending on your testosterone levels you may very well qualify for test therapy -- legally raising your levels up to someone in their 20's or 30's. I'd definately explore that before wasting money on prohormones (got bottles of the junk if you want to buy them :).
 
Actually had planned on at least getting tested. Wanted to get a complete physical (one of those "40" things I never got around to), and was going to ask for a T test as well.

Haven't decided if I wanted to make up some "symptoms", though.

I wouldn't say that's great progress for someone who's "over 40". I'd say that's great progress for anyone period.

Hey... why not send some photo's into Subway and claim you did their "diet". You'd take over Jared's spot, become famous, and probably get all the free food you want :D

Seriously though... I'm very impressed. Keep it up.
