another new guy here in need of help

Hey guys, im looking to start getting into body building and i am in need of some help. My body type is basically i can eat whatever and never gain any weight. But im tired of being skinny. Right now i am 19 years old, 6 foot 5.... and 168 pounds. I am not sure my body fat, but im pretty sure its low.

There is one problem for me though, i will be in college in a couple months. I know in order to gain muscle mass, i will need to eat a lot of food a day in order to put on some extra pounds, hopefully in muscle. The problem is money. Can anyone tell me the average amount of money a week or month they spend on a bulk diet? money is kinda hard to come by for me.

From random calculators of calories intake that i need a day, i think that i need anywhere from 3000 calories a day or higher, how expenisve would this be to do it? And along with this question, does anyone have a beginning workout that i should start out on? And is doing any type of cardio a good thing seeing as how i am trying to put on weight.. basically would cardio off set the extra calories that i would be eating?

If you can help me with some of these questions it would greatly be appreciated. thank you guys

food is expensive, even more so now then it was 6 months ago, that being said i'm in college as well and there are plenty of cheap clean foods you can use to bulk, here is a basic list

chicken
tuna
lean beef on sale
oatmeal
brown rice
egg whites
sweet potatos

with these foods alone you can bulk pretty well, now for the diet, first we need you to calculate your TDEE(total daily energy expenditure) there should be ways to do that at the top of the forum

once you have that i'll help you write out a diet

This is good, but dont forget fruit/vegetables. cheap fruit is bananas, apples, oranges. cheap vegatables are broccoli, green beans, corn, field salad, etc. basically anything green in the produce section is food you need to eat along with everything else for bulking. Cant neglect basic health.

thanks for the help so far guys. ive been looking around this site and a couple others and found out some information that you guys need to further help me out. i think that i did it all right, hopefully.

I got that my BMR is 1951 and then i multiplied that by what i would be doing when i start working out which was 1.55 (3 days a week - moderate) to get 3025 calories daily. And then it said that in order to add mass i would need to add 10-20 percent of that. so i did 15 % to get that i would need 3478 calories a day in order to gain mass.

Like i was saying before. im just a tall and skinny kid. i also went to a website to calculate my body fat percent and got around 6-7 % depending on the website and what they were asking for.

Thanks again for the help so far
