You've just got to get past that sphincter muscle right at the beginning of the canal. Sadly this is probably going to take a quick shove and some initial pain, but once you get past that, things should be all good.

You may have to invest in toys that graduate up in size to equal the size of your head. If this is something that both of you really want it is going to take time and consisent effort but I think you can get there. The other problem many women have is that once they experience pain then every time they try they think it is going to hurt, they tense up and consequently...it hurts.
