an AMAZING product for CHEAP PROTEIN!!!

Burning_Inside

Elite Mentor
I have discovered a new source for protein at a very low cost.

The product is Iberia brand Jack Mackerel.

Basically it's large sardines in a can.

for 70 cents I can buy one can which contains around 8 servings at 13 grams of protein and 3 grams of fat per serving!!!

That's about 100 grams of protein per can for a measly 70 cents!!!

You cannot go wrong with this, unless of course you don't like fish.

I personally love them with a small amount of ketchup or cajun seasoning.

Turst me on this one.

Costco has Kirkland brand, canned chicken breast.... 0 carbs and like 70g protein or something nuts like that per can. Pack of like 8 cans is like 5-7.. can't remember.

How much sodium is in each can? It's probably alot, huh? Oh well, you can always wash the sodium out the can. The canned chicken breast doesn't sound that bad. Just use half a can of chicken breast with an extra scoop of Protein Powder and that's 57 grams of Protein. You can add 1/2-1 cup of Oatmeal or Brown Rice with 1 cup of Broccoli and your set while dieting...:D

small fish like that always remind me of seeing minnows in the creek.

If I ate them, I would have to be on "Fear Factor"

no way in hell i'm eating 16 servings of sardines a day. I'll stick to milk and avoid the whole gag reflex. 64 grams of protein per $1.

Yeah, and a shitload of uneccessary lactose (SUGAR) for that $1 as well. (about 130 grams for that $1)

Even though I don't like sardines, I'd choose those over milk for a lean physique anyday.

if you're doing low carb that could be a problem, yes. Im not though, i'm doing low fat. Technically its 96 grams of carbs per $1, and the GI of the carbs is about 30.

Thanks for the clarification Nordstrom, I was thinking about the entire gallon..........nonetheless, for low carbs it's shitty yes, u are right. Low fat diets, well I won't go there, but you still could choose far better products that don't contain sugar like that.........

No matter what diet you are on, low carb or low fat, why ingest sugar when it does nothing but ruin your look? If it doesn't ruin it, it certainly doesn't help and it's not a "clean" food. If it doesn't hurt you though, then hell, YOU GO BOY! LOL!!!!!! :)

Canned chicken is great, just use it as you would tuna!
