Alright to take minocycline while on cycle?

I'm on my 8th week and I'm starting to break out pretty bad. I was prescribed minocycline by my derm for it. Would it be alright to take it while on cycle, what about during clomid recovery?

I have taken it before too. It worked better for me when I took some of the capsules apart, mixed em with my after shave and put it on my acne topically.

Doesn't minocycline work as an antibiotic. I would think that it would have to pass through your blood to fight the acne from inside?

There are topical antibiotics. They dont have to pass through your system. An antibiotic works by contact with the bacteria. It is safer to try topicals first so they dont disrupt your normal flora and expose you to secondary infections. There is a topical form of erythromycin for acne also. As a matter of fact, almost all topical acne medications are some type of antibiotics (excluding retin-A)
I have been using triple antibiotic cream lately and it is quite effective

no, like I said, an antibiotic does not have to go through yourr blood stream for a topical infection. acne is a topical bacterial infection.

oral antibiotics ONLY negatively impact ORAL steroids not injectables. The "normal" bacteria in the gut is required to help absorb steroid molecules across the intestinal walls....no "normal" bacteria, less absorption.

if you are using orals don't use oral minocycline..use something topical...if you are using only injectables than go ahead.

MInocycline is good but can be hard on the liver so taking it while on AS may not be a good idea. I actually had a problem like that from some bogus gear I took and I broke out really bad. I took everything you can think of but the last Dermatologist I went to gave me some cream that when applied burns so you can see how it took them all away. Anyhow, within a few weeks I was rid of them all and thankfull because it was very disgusting. I dont have the name of the cream with me but iIf you are interested I can PM you the name of the cream I got and trust me out of everything I tried including Minocycline it was the best. Also, you dont have to worry about it affecting your liver or anything like that.

I have used minocin with both orals and injectables and it kept my acne to a minimum. I have heard people say it will affect gains however. I do not know if it affected my gains or not, but it did helped reduce my acne a great deal. BamBam

That is what I was worried about. I am currently on 50mg DBOL and 500mg Sustanon. The DBOL is what worries me...

I was on Doxycyline since last Sept...200mg/day... Cleared up the cystic acne i got from sus last may..... but took FOREVER...Stopped taking the Doxy when i did Eq for 7 wks.. Back on it the Doxy now.. didn't want to affect my gains at all.....Was told by my dermo that you need to drink plenty of water, asked if i was taking any other meds , if so drink even more water.
