the alkaline diet is a great diet, i've actually used it many times to lose a lot of weight and improve my health. healthier people eat mostly an alkaline diet
it is all about eating watery fruits, veggies.
avoiding processed foods and limiting dairy/meat consumption.
and drinking lots of water
you want to aim for atleast 80/20 alkaline foods for health. specifically avoid the middle part of the grocery store and stick to the outer parts where there are only whole foods

I also have 160 cholesterol levels and normal blood pressure, while most people on bodybuilder diets have horrible lipid health and are scared to check it.
