alcohol during CKD carb up

I'm doing CKD right now and its my birthday saturday... My friends are throwing me a big party and i gotta drink cus i dont wanna spoil my own party... So if i take mad r-ala beforehand, will it be really detrimental or will i be able to get right back in keto?
 
its not gonna hurt too bad straight liquours usually have no carbs, beer is low carbs (even if you drink a 30 pack you're only getting like 150-170 carbs max as long as its a light beer, just gotta watch out for those sugary, mixed drinks they may fuck up your shit, but its during a carb up i believe you said so just limit the carbs you eat during the day and use them up in your drinking if its not your carb up day make it your carb up day for the week and just readjust after....have fun bro
 
Carb calories in liquor aren't the problem with drinking during a carb-up - the alcohol calories are. Alcohol is treated like a poison by the body, and preferentially burned before any other calories that you consume at the same time. So if you have a meal plus a couple of shots of tequila, your body will metabolize the tequila first regardless of how much it's starving for the protein, carbs, and fat in the meal.
 
If you take "mad r-ala" you'll probably go into hypoglycemic shock. Alcohol promotes insulin sensitivity, but it also promotes estrogen spikes so limiting your total calorie intake altogether is probably your best bet: ice cold Jager shots and Sam Adams Lights mmmm. Precede and follow-up your binge with plenty of good protein, and you should be good to go. Then plan on extending your carb refeed another half day to make up for the time your body was spending metabolizing the alchy. Just have to look at it as a temporary setback and burn whatever fat you may add over that next week.
 
sounds good... I havent drank at all this semester since i have been cutting, so i wont be able to handle much... PLus i will probably get something to speed it up... I figure maybe one beer and a few shots of vodka, and no eating soon before or after
 
well i try not to eat past 10:00... My party is at 10:00 and we are going out to dinner at 8:00... So i wont eat after 8:00 and once i drink not until the next morning
