The method used is to break your legs, insert metal pins and then turn screws that force new bone and tissue to grow. It takes about a year. You can add about 2 inches and it's seriously painful.

A friend is 4'11." She's cute, and she's happy with her height because she gets special attention while making her way to the top of the pile.
I'm 6'5". At times it would be easier being 5'10"
Height is a lot less about your actual measurement as it is about the way you carry yourself and act in the world.
Find a way to be OK with what you've got.
