Acne treatments

Over the last 10 years I've tried a lot of things, most of which haven't really done diddly. A few which have worked well though are (preventative) any masque with 10% sulfur and (breakout tx) prescription clindamycin 1.2%/benzyl peroxide 2.5%. The clindy/bz combo is amazingly effective at facial breakouts.

ladies what treatment(s) have you found to be most effective for you?

anything with sulfur and triclosan (usually found in toothpaste but in some acne treatments)

biggest help for me has been liberal straight tea tree oil morning and evening and every other day .025% retin A morning and evening
the best my skin ever looked was no breaks between ortho tri cyclen (a triphasil usually cant be taken straight through but it worked for me) and very strong tca peel followed by emu oil for two weeks then straight teat tree oil
my skin looked like porcelain then....

I tend to think the tca peel worsened my skin long term tho because I never had blackheads before and now I get them all the time...like the TCA peel damaged the pores or something

Are you scarring? If so, have you tried Accutane? What kind of acne are you talking about? Have you tried laser treatments? Depends on how bad of acne and what you wanna risk.

How about some MSM or Biotin supplements? I am using retin-a, currently, and use a tca home peel at 8% (for fading marks). I will say that the Proactiv system really helped me.

I don't know if it's readily available in America as I'm not sure where it's made, but the best range of skin care products I've come across is called Eucerin. I use the cleanser and toner every day and it's fab for clearing your skin. I only use the 'weak' products now but they have varying strengths I think.

I just wash my face before I go to bed. Wash it with lukewarm water first to open up the pores then use soap (mild soap) then rinse it with cold water to close the pores.

Ok it took me a while to get this right but this WORKS..
DDF glycolic clearing wash with a buff puff for face and wash face every morn and night.
Morn- dermalogica oil control lotion or .1% retin a depending if ur breaking out or just oily after washing and face is dry.
Body- ddf glycolic wash on body buff puff (only in broken out areas and scrub!) and clindamycin the area once dry.
My skin was baaad for a while and once I started doing this I've had literally a 90% reduction. My face is smooth and clear...
Shoulders broke out from sweat at the gym ect and like I said 90% better.
Get regular facials and cut out dairy.
Ocean water works great mixed with some sun too.

For women- just use DDF skin line. My girlfriend is an esthetician and uses that and has FLAWLESS skin.
Good luck

When I run tren and test I break out pretty bad on my shoulders. I started using Irish springs clear and clean body wash with 2% Salicylic acid an it started to help reduce the amount that showed up. My wife started putting some pro active mask stuff and tea tree oil on it and it really helped clear it up. Took about three to four weeks to really go away and all thats left are these very minimal bumps.

why are you two in the "girl talk" section :)

I'm just curious lmfaooooo jkjkjk

I just know way too much about this stuff so thought I'd throw in my .02 and help a little. Psshhh last time I do THAT shirleneeee lmaoo ;)
I should open a spa (pops collar) lol

lolol...too funny...see the sticky above this thread ;)

I dont mind but some women do...

Acne is cause by oils. So if you put toothpaste on your skin where the acne is it will take out the oils. Try the Colgate toothpaste it has worked very well for me so far. I know it sounds silly but it's like a face mask.

I find an Aspirin Mask Works Well - Sorry tried to leave a link to the instructions but don't have the privileges :( Give it a Google!!!

my dr at the moment currently has me on benzoclin and .1% retin a. this has made an amazing difference as has bikram yoga (opens pores) and washing my face with cetaphil only

for something non scripted cindylou <3 had sent me some obagi exfoderm forte that was really incredibly amazing for a non script product along with obagi blender which bleached out marks on my face.

my plastic surgeon said micro dermabrasion only works on very mild scars
he didn't suggest it

what kind of scars are you talking? discolored? rolling boxcars? ice picks? whatcha got?

the filler and subcision worked incredibly well on my rolling boxcars and some mild orange peely looking ice picks, but the deep ice picks I have are both too small for excision and too big for sibcision or filler

I was told no matter what was done it never is 100% and they all have roughly the same results (deep peel, vs laser vs filler and subcision)
so I went with the cheapest and most predictable result..unfortunately its also temporary

upside it was instant results with really almost no down time

Mine really aren't that bad, they're just surface scars, discolored. I have olive skin so I scar so easily and I love picking my zits :-/ Bad combo.
We're about to start offering microderm in my salon/spa so it won't cost me anything. I'm hoping that will be enough and I won't have to go the more expensive route.

that should work to get rid of pigmentation problems

obagi blender is phenomenal at getting rid of the discoloration as well as making your skin smooth like butter

<3 cindylou

You ever tried La Mer?

Sent from my HTC One V using EliteFitness

Try Proactiv the extra strength solution -- works like magic
Cleans skin of acne and discoloration of the skin like dark spots...

Has anyone tried accutane or know anyone who has?? I am 27 and still have issues with acne during my period. I have tried everything under the sun from my dermatologist but nothing makes it better all the time. It improves a little bit but still have bad breakouts once my cycle start around again. I am on birth control and it didn't change anything with my skin. I have been using dove soap in the morning and neutrogena acne wash at night with clinique step 2 cleanser and acne moisturizer after every wash which has made my skin feel a lot nice than it ever has.

I also went through from acne problem in age of 23. My big cousin sister recommend me to use Neem face wash and face Pack too. And my acne problem solved out permanently. So Start using Neem face wash and create Neem face pack at home with real neem leafs and a simple aroma powder and water...

I used some home-made natural products to get rid of acne. I found tea tree oil, apple cider vinegar, baking soda and oatmeal very effective for getting rid of acne.
