Abcess? Warm lump on me ass!

2nd time this has happened to me. First time was on my delt a few years ago. Went to the doc, gave me some anti-biotics and it went away.

I injected 1.5mls of Test Enth in my ass cheek on Monday. I normally get a tiny lump and it's tender for a few days, then it goes away.

It's Satarday now, and I've got a pretty good sized lump. I'd estimate it at 3" x 5". It's very tender to touch and it's also very warm to the touch.

You think this will go away? Any meds I could take for it, w/o gettin a prescription? If not, what should I tell my doc? Last time on my delt it looked reddish and like a rash. Doc didn't ask any questions.

But being that this is on my ass cheek.....kinda don't know what to say yet

Read my thread about my 1st bad injection in 8 years. I went to the doc b/c I thought I had an abcess. Mine started immediately after injection. Grew as days went on. Turned out it was just bad locallized swelling and irritation. I shot my glute with an oil water mix but didnt shoot deep enough. It got caught in whatever is between my ass muscles and skin.. Hurt like hell. I wouldnt use heat. Ice and anti-bacterial creams worked. I got a script for keflex but didnt end up using it.

If you are getting these red, irritated lumps after every injection.. I would probably read up on injection technique, make sure your sterilizing everything or find different gear.

I see you have been here for quite some time and I am no newbie either, but sometimes we start to cut corners and thats when bad things can happen. Good luck though!

I keep keflex on hand for when this happen's so i don't have to go to the doc,you can get keflex or amoxicillan pretty cheap from a overseas pharmacy.

What brand test E were you using? I had the same thing happen with BD. Wasn't abbcess but got me worried and was painful as hell.

The time's i got abcesses it was with BD gear,just bad luck though i think.

if it is red and hot to the touch it is very possible that you have infection, for this reason you should see physician

BD. Update, the lump seems slightly smaller today, and not as painful.

I'm gonna give it a few days and see what happens.

You are lucky because that is probabley not an abcess, that BD test enanthate was some bad shit and I don't know it was only a certain batch or what but it's the only stuff i've ever thrown away just because of that. It had me rushing around just like you to find some antibiotics. I would throw it out if I were you, it's just not worth the pain. I even tried baking it and nothing worked. After that happened to me I checked the BD website and it said that their test E had been disscontinued. I stuck myself I think three times and had the same reaction every time, no matter how small the dose,mixing it or baking it. You're fine, just hope you didn't get too much of the stuff.

does not sound like abcess, but probabally is cellulitis. if you did not go in deep enough or went in at an angle you can inject under skin. Between muscle and tissue. This can cause an infection to spread. If you have a 3x5 inch red spot that is spreading I would guess thats what it is.

You need to get on sone antibiotics soon. you can tell the doc whatever. say you sliped and fell on your ass onto something. You can get this infection from many different things.

Sorry to derail, but I have these same exact symptoms and have been doing some research. I got some Bactrim DS which has cleared up the redness/swelling but I still have a large lump. Could it be Cellulits + an abscess?
