Anyone get a tattoo when they were smaller then bulk up significantly? Did the tattoo get distorted at all?

This is more of a physics question. The tattoo is on the skin, so if the shape of the underlying muscle changes and the skin stretches, the tattoo will stretch too.

I have an old tatoo on my upper arm that's 30+ yrs old...over the years it's just stretched as the size of my arm grew/shrunk...never got distorted.

I was wondering the same thing myself. You'd think that substantial growth would tend to distort it. From the replies, it appears that skin tends to stretch uniformily. Interesting.

ha ha it depend on how much your grow... i have seen alot of them that are not like they where in the begining.. have changed.... I have seen lots of crosses that do not look as square... but most of the people i asked did not seem to mind..
but they will change some...

Mine on my upper arm is distorted... was a perfect circle and is now a oval shape. If you can imagine, my arm didnt get any longer but it got bigger circumference. Pisses me off sometimess but I forgot is was there anyway about 10yr ago...

I've got a half sleeve I think my arms were 17" when I got the tat and now they are 19" the tat does stretch but I noticed some of the bright colors seemed to fade, or loose the depth. I'm going to get it touch up in a few areas, but nothing to be worried about.

same here, you can see i've got lots o' ink.
i'm small again in this pic, but even my arms were 16" the tats looked fine.

i got so much ink it isnt funny some 20yrs old never had any problems

if you go form like 13in arms.. to 16 i think you will see problems..
or from 43 in chest to 50.... but it will probably show more in the arms... because like some one said you arms will not get longer..

like i said mine are fine, and yes, my arms were barely around 13" when most of my ink was done. at 16" still looked normal. too bad i've withered away to around 15 (if i cheat alittle )
